A Glamping Wedding Weekend in Georgia (the Country): How a 3-Day Tent Wedding for 40-100 Guests Works

A glamping wedding is not a ceremony with a tent in the photo. It is a weekend where everyone stays, eats and celebrates in one place. Here is exactly how it runs at Glamping Tago in the Adjara mountains, with the beds, the timeline, the food and the 2026 numbers.

What a glamping wedding actually is

Most wedding venues sell one evening: a hall, a dinner, a dance floor, and at midnight everyone gets into taxis. A glamping wedding is the opposite. You take over a whole camp in the mountains from Friday afternoon to Sunday morning; your guests sleep in bell tents and village guesthouses a few minutes apart, eat every meal together, and the ceremony, the feast, the campfire and the hangover brunch all happen on the same ridge. Nobody drives, nobody leaves, and the wedding lasts three days instead of six hours.

We have run these at Glamping Tago, above Village Tago in Khulo municipality, Adjara, Georgia (the country), since our first seasons, for parties from a dozen people to a group of 120. This is how it works in practice, with our 2026 prices, so you can decide whether it fits you before you write to us.

The place

The camp sits on a ridge about 2 hours from Batumi, with the valley below and the mountains of upper Adjara around it. It is seasonal: open from 1 April to the end of October, closed in winter. When you book a wedding you buy out the whole property, so there are no other guests.

• Sleeping on the ridge: twelve Lotus Belle tents (a double bed or two singles, a wood stove, electricity and light, towels and linen, a third mattress possible) and a nine-bed geodesic dome. That is up to 33 people on site, one minute from the wedding tent.
• Sleeping in the village: seven family guesthouses in Tago, three to ten minutes on foot down the hill, with 27 rooms and beds for 64 more guests, at 150 GEL per room per night, shared bathrooms. We book them for you as one block. Friends with their own tents or campervans pitch on the property free of charge when the camp is bought out.
• Ceremony spots: the forest clearing, the valley overlook, the sailcloth yoga shala on its 138 m2 platform (the rain option), or Otsinari lake, 30 minutes away by car.
• Feast: the open wedding tent on the ridge, which seats 100, or the yurt restaurant for smaller groups (24 at the long table, 32 with extra tables).
• Everything else: two bathhouses with hot showers, a sauna, a campfire pit, an indoor 38 m2 yoga dome, a projector, screen, speaker and microphone.

The timeline, Friday to Sunday

Friday. Guests arrive from Batumi through the afternoon; check-in runs from 15:00. Our 4x4 cars collect them in Khulo or straight from Batumi (a private car for up to four people is 265 GEL each way; for a group we pool the arrivals into shared cars). Dinner in the yurt, first campfire, sauna for whoever wants it, quiet hours from 23:00 so the couple sleeps.

Saturday. Breakfast buffet, then the morning is free: a walk to the village, coffee on the platform, hair and make-up in the tents. Ceremony in the late afternoon when the light is soft, either in the forest clearing or on the overlook. Reception drinks on the ridge, the feast under the wedding tent, speeches, the first dance, music until the quiet hours, then the campfire, which is where most weddings really happen.

Sunday. Long brunch, a swim in the river or a jeep to Green Lake for the brave, and check-out at 11:00, though nobody has ever been thrown out on time.

Add a night on either side if guests fly a long way; the camp is yours as long as you have booked it.

Food

The kitchen is fully vegetarian. We say that first because it surprises people, and then we say that no guest has ever gone hungry. Full board is 100 GEL per person per day (a breakfast buffet, lunch and a dinner buffet). For the wedding feast you choose a package per person: a Georgian supra at 85 GEL, a Euro-Georgian buffet at 125 GEL, or the signature buffet at 225 GEL. Reception appetisers are 15 GEL per person and a cake from our kitchen is 50 GEL.

If your family cannot imagine a wedding without meat, two things work: we set up a barbecue on the ridge for 20 GEL and you bring the meat, or the Friday dinner happens at a village guesthouse as a proper Adjarian supra. Wine is served in the restaurant; you may bring your own bottles for a corkage fee of about 15-20 GEL each.

Children under six eat free and six to twelve pay half.

The wedding itself

Our own price list, so you can budget without an agency:

• Wedding arch: 500 GEL. Local flowers for it and the tables: 350 GEL. We make both ourselves.
• Decoration package: 1,000 GEL. Event tent for the feast: 1,000 GEL. Music equipment: 300 GEL.
• MC and DJ with their own equipment, through our partner vendors: typically 2,300-2,600 GEL.
• Day-of coordination: Jonas and Lisa, who run the venue, run the day with you, so nobody in your family has to. Included.
• Photographers, videographers and live musicians are booked per wedding; Georgian photographers start around 500 USD a day.

What it costs, honestly

Whole-property buyout per night in 2026: 2,520 GEL in May, 3,584 GEL in June and September, 4,488 GEL in July and August, 2,316 GEL in October. Add a one-off privatisation fee of 2,000 GEL for the event, village rooms at 150 GEL each per night, and food per person.

Worked example for 60 guests, two nights in September 2026:

For 40 guests the village rooms and transfers shrink and the total lands closer to 30,000 GEL; for 100 guests you are using every village bed and it is nearer 60,000 GEL. Compare that with a single hotel evening for the same number and remember it includes two nights of accommodation and six meals for everyone.

The rain plan, and the cold

Mountain weather changes faster than any forecast. Our plan B is built in: the ceremony moves under the sailcloth shala, the feast is already under the wedding tent, and the campfire has the yurt as a fallback. Nights are cold even in August, so tell your guests to bring a warm layer for the evening; the tents have stoves and heaters, and we light them.

Booking terms, briefly

A 30% deposit of the accommodation cost confirms the dates; it is non-refundable and counts as your minimum spend. Until 60 days before arrival you can change tent numbers freely, then up to two tents free until 30 days and one until 14 days. Final numbers are confirmed in writing 14 days before, the balance is invoiced then and paid before arrival. We need your full programme 30 days before and the tent allocation list 7 days before. High-season dates (June to September) go six to twelve months ahead.

Is it for you?

A glamping wedding suits couples who want their people together for a weekend, who like the outdoors more than a ballroom, and who are relaxed about shared bathrooms and a vegetarian kitchen. It does not suit a 200-guest formal dinner or anyone who needs a hotel room with an en-suite for every aunt.
