You do not need a wedding planner to get married in Georgia. Registration at a Public Service Hall counter is free on weekdays, and two adult witnesses and your passports are enough. What a planner or agency really sells is the rest: translations and a next-day apostille, vendors who speak your language, a timeline, and someone who runs the day while you get married.
In 2026 that help costs from about $200 for paperwork only, $1,350 to $12,500 for a fixed agency package, and 9-15% of the whole budget for full planning. For a weekend wedding in the Adjara mountains, the venue team and a vendor guide often do most of a planner's job, which is how we work at Glamping Tago.
Which kind of help fits your wedding?
Pick by guest count and by how much of the planning you want to hand over. A couple marrying alone needs a paperwork agency or nobody; a 60-guest weekend needs a venue team that runs the place and either you, a planner or the venue's coordinator on the vendors.
| Option | Who does what | Guests | Guests sleep on site | Ceremony outdoors | Price from (2026) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Glamping Tago venue team + vendor guide (our venue, Adjara) | You or your planner book vendors; our team runs rooms, food, tent and timing | Up to 100 | Yes: 33 on the ridge, 64 more in Tago village | Meadow facing the mountains, tent if it rains | Whole camp 3,258 GEL a night (April), food extra |
| Glamping Tago + our coordination | One person books every vendor from our guide and runs the day | Up to 100 | Yes | Yes | 2,000 GEL fixed fee on top |
| Full planner (Iremi Wedding in Adjara, Tbilisi agencies) | Concept, vendors, contracts, payments, the day itself | Any | Depends on the venue | Your choice | 9-15% of the budget, minimum $600 at Tbili Weddings |
| Agency ceremony package in Tbilisi or Batumi | Paperwork, ceremony, photos, coordination | 2 to 20 | No, hotels are separate | Kojori rocks, Botanical Garden, sea view | $1,350 for two at Kojori, near Tbilisi |
| Agency destination package with dinner (Gudauri, Kakheti) | Paperwork, ceremony, dinner, the stay | 20 to 30 | Yes, the stay is in the package | Yes | $9,800 for 20 guests (Gudauri) |
| Paperwork-only agency | Translation, application, witnesses, apostille | The two of you | No | No | $200 in Batumi, without the apostille |
| Do it yourself | You file at a Public Service Hall | The two of you + 2 witnesses | No | No | Free at the counter on weekdays |
- Choose a venue team when your venue is booked for your group alone and has its own kitchen and event crew. You save the planner's percentage and still have one person who answers your questions.
- Choose a full planner when the wedding spreads over several places (a church, a restaurant, a hotel), when you live abroad and cannot visit, or when you want a concept and decor built from scratch.
- Choose a paperwork agency when you are two people and want the certificate apostilled the next day without queuing yourself.
Do you need a wedding planner to get married in Georgia?
No. The Public Service Development Agency registers marriages at its offices and at Public Service Halls, free of charge without a ceremony, and no law asks for an agency.

The rules are short. Both of you must be 18 or older, you register in person (a representative cannot do it for you), you bring two legally capable adult witnesses, and a foreigner shows that they are in Georgia legally. A passport that carries your name in Latin letters is accepted without a Georgian translation.
Couples who do it alone spend very little. Getmarried.ge puts the state fees for a weekday registration with an apostille on the 8th day and a one-page translation at about 60 GEL. Agencies earn their fee on the parts that are hard from abroad: notarised passport translations, the application, witnesses if you bring none, and the apostilled certificate in your hand the next working day.
A planner earns a percentage when the wedding has guests. Once 20 or more people travel, someone has to book the host, DJ, photographer and transport, keep the timeline and be on site at 9:00 when the florist calls. That someone can be a planner, the venue's own team, or you.
What does a wedding planner cost in Georgia in 2026?
Full planning costs 9-15% of the wedding budget in Georgia: about 2,000-6,000 GEL on a typical 20,000-40,000 GEL wedding. Paperwork-only help costs $200-$500, and day-of coordination is sold either inside an agency package or as a fixed fee by the venue.
| Service (2026 prices) | What it costs | Who charges it |
|---|---|---|
| Registration at the counter, no ceremony | Free | State, Public Service Halls |
| Registration with a ceremony in a House of Justice or community centre | 75 GEL | State |
| Wedding House ceremony | 135 GEL weekdays, 225 GEL Saturday-Sunday | State |
| Registrar comes to your venue anywhere in Georgia | 255 GEL | State |
| Apostille on the marriage certificate | 30 GEL (8th working day) to 150 GEL (same day) | State |
| Paperwork-only agency package | $200 (Batumi, no apostille) to $500 | Agencies |
| Registration package with make-up, 2-hour photo shoot and coordination | $890 Tbilisi, $990 Batumi | Tbili Weddings & Events |
| Full wedding planning | 9-10% of the budget, minimum $600 | Tbili Weddings |
| Full wedding planning | Usually 10-15% of the budget | Planners in Adjara |
| Venue coordination at Glamping Tago | 2,000 GEL fixed | Our team, only if you ask |
The fee models differ more than the numbers. A percentage grows with every flower you add; a fixed fee does not. Tbili Weddings asks 9% of the budget on its Batumi page and 10% on its main page, with a $600 minimum on both. For comparison, Paperlust puts a US day-of coordinator at $800-$2,500 and full service at $3,800-$5,500, so Georgian planning costs well below Western prices.
Where the rest of the money goes: Kate & Co's 2026 cost guide splits a Tbilisi budget into location and ceremony 35-40%, decor 15-20%, photo and video 10-15%, attire 10%, and banquet with entertainment 25-30%. It puts dinner from $55 a person, $90-100 for a full banquet with drinks, a full-day photographer from $500 and a cake for 50 from $350.

Glamping Tago (our venue): how planning works here
We are your venue, not your wedding planner. Every couple books the whole camp, and you choose how much of the planning you hand over: venue only with our vendor guide, our partner planner, or our own coordination for a fixed 2,000 GEL.
Glamping Tago (our venue), Adjara
- Where: on the ridge above Village Tago, Khulo municipality, mountainous Adjara, at 1,200 m
- Drive: about 2 hours from Batumi; the last stretch is a mountain road for 4x4 cars and minibuses
- Capacity: weddings up to 100 guests; 33 sleep on site, 64 in 7 village guesthouses a few minutes below
- Price from (2026): whole camp 3,258 GEL a night in April, 3,646 GEL in October, 6,035 GEL in July and August; food and extras on top
- Season: the camp is open April to October; the wedding season runs May to mid-October

Whichever way you plan, our venue team runs the place on the day: the rooms, the food and the timing with the kitchen, turning the event tent from ceremony to dinner, our decor and setup, and one person who answers your questions. The ceremony usually happens on the meadow facing the mountains, dinner and dancing in the 150 m² event tent on its wooden deck, and the party moves into the yurt restaurant, Yurtalicious, after midnight.
The three ways to plan here:
- Venue only, no extra fee. Couples who book get our vendor guide: vetted hosts, DJs, photographers, florists and stylists, mostly from Batumi, with contacts and approximate prices. You or your own planner book and pay them directly.
- Our partner planner, Iremi Wedding. Their fee is agreed with them directly, usually 10-15% of the budget; we charge nothing extra.
- Our coordination, 2,000 GEL. One person on our side from the first call to the last dance: we contact, book and manage every vendor from the guide, build the timeline and run the day on site.
If you bring your own planner, their team gets the heated geodesic dome as the getting-ready room and base, free, and eats free. Send us the vendor list and the programme 30 days before, and the final headcount for food 7 days before.
Glamping is the wrong venue for some weddings, and it is better to know that now. It does not fit a guest list over 100, guests who need a private bathroom (the tents share two bathhouses), a wedding between November and March, or a banquet built around meat: our kitchen is vegetarian, and meat comes from a BBQ station grilled next to the tent. Read the full organiser page with every price before you write to us.

How do your guests get to a mountain wedding in Adjara?
Glamping Tago is 86.6 km from central Batumi along the Batumi to Akhaltsikhe road, about 2 hours by car. Big coaches cannot climb the last stretch, so groups ride 15- and 17-seat minibuses and 4x4 cars, in waves from Batumi, the airport or the train station.
| Transfer (2026 prices, per vehicle, one way) | 4x4 car, 4 seats | Minibus, 15 seats |
|---|---|---|
| Batumi to Glamping Tago | 265 GEL | 410 GEL |
| Khulo to Glamping Tago | 75 GEL | 135 GEL |
| Kutaisi to Glamping Tago | 465 GEL | - |
| Tbilisi to Glamping Tago | 925 GEL | - |
| Vendor car, Batumi and back | 530 GEL return | - |
A popular plan is your own coach to Khulo and our minibuses for the last 8.7 km, 30-35 minutes up. Transfers are paid in cash to our reception, never to the driver. The how to get here page has the route for anyone driving themselves; do not follow Google Maps for the last part.
Which agencies plan weddings in Georgia, and what does each charge?
Most Georgian wedding agencies are based in Tbilisi and travel to Batumi, Gudauri or Kakheti for a wedding. The Madloba directory lists 53 wedding agencies in Tbilisi alone. Is there a wedding planner in Batumi and Adjara?
Yes, but few. Most agencies that sell "Batumi" packages are Tbilisi teams who travel, and their Batumi offers are built for a ceremony and a small group: Tbili Weddings' sea view package covers up to 20 guests on the Panorama Batumi terrace.
Iremi Wedding is the planner who works in Adjara itself. Natalia and her team plan around fifteen weddings a year in Adjara, from Batumi and its Botanical Garden to the mountains, know our camp, and work in Russian and English. Their own site lists paperwork from €390, a Comfort package from €850 and a full wedding from €1,500.

For registration only in Batumi, Get Married in Georgia starts at $200 ($400 with the apostille) and LETO Wedding at $410. For a city banquet instead of a weekend in nature, Batumi has large indoor halls such as Ajara Banquet Hall, and local decorators such as Wedding decor-shorena work across the region.
What changed in Adjara in 2026: no wedding house, the 255 GEL registrar
Adjara has had no wedding house since February 2026. Batumi Boulevard began demolishing the old wedding palace, the "Dolphin" at the boulevard entrance, on 25 February 2026; a new one is planned on the New Boulevard, with no opening date.
Until it opens you have two choices in Adjara. You register for free at a Public Service Hall counter on a weekday (the Batumi hall is closed at weekends) (75 GEL with a ceremony at a House of Justice or community centre), or a registrar comes to your venue for 255 GEL, up from 170 GEL before the price rise.
For a wedding at Glamping Tago, the registration point in Khulo is 8.7 km and about 30 minutes below the camp, on the road up from Batumi, so the legal part fits into the arrival day. Or the registrar comes up to the meadow and signs you in front of your guests.

Paperwork-only agencies: what $200-$600 buys you
A paperwork package gets you notarised passport translations, the application, witnesses if you need them, the state fees and an apostilled certificate, usually the next working day. The price range is wide for the same work: $200 at Get Married in Georgia in Batumi ($400 with the apostille), $380 at LETO ($410 in Batumi), $465 at Yuliko and $500 at getmarried.ge.
What the higher prices add is speed and extras. The state apostille costs 30 GEL on the 8th working day, 60 GEL on the 4th, 120 GEL on the 2nd and 150 GEL the same day, and couples from Minsk Convention countries need none. Lotus, Yuliko and Tbili Weddings & Events deliver the apostilled certificate the next working day; Iremi's basic package takes 2 working days.
How do you spot a bad agency before you pay?
A bad agency asks for everything up front, quotes far below the others, and pays your venue for you. The worst stories on Georgian review sites follow one pattern: full payment taken, the venue left unpaid, and the agency no longer answering, as one Madloba review describes.
Red flags:
- A price far below the others. Lotus Wedding warns that an understated price means low-level contractors or hidden fees later.
- Payment before a contract. A reliable agency signs an official contract as a company, with the obligations, force majeure and penalties written out, before it asks for an advance.
- Venue money through the agency. Pay the venue deposit yourself, in your name, and pay the agency in stages.
- No named person. Couples who praise an agency in 2026 reviews name their coordinator. Ask who yours is before you sign.
- Slow answers before you pay. Send one detailed question and see how long the reply takes; it only gets slower in June.
Questions to ask, from Paperlust's planner checklist: how many weddings do you take a year, do you ever run two on the same day, and who replaces you if you are ill on our date.
What should the contract say?
A two-sided contract in a language you read, signed before any money moves. Lotus Wedding's own advice is to insist on one with force majeure terms.
It should name:
- every service and every vendor included, and what is not included (vendor travel, overtime, apostille speed);
- the fee, the payment stages and the date of each;
- the refund for each stage if you cancel, and if they cancel;
- your coordinator by name, and their replacement;
- who pays the venue, and that the venue's deposit is in your name;
- the weather plan for an outdoor ceremony.
What should you and your guests know before a mountain wedding weekend?
Pack for cold nights, plan for rain and pay in lari. The organiser page lists every rule; these are the ones guests ask about most.
- Payment: lari by bank transfer or a payment link; company invoices in GEL or EUR. What you use on the day is settled on site, in cash or by transfer, against an itemised invoice.
- Weather: nights are cold even in summer, so guests bring warm layers; the tents are heated. Late August can be rainy, so bring umbrellas.
- If it rains: the event tent walls close and the ceremony moves under the tent or into the yurt.
- Signal: Starlink Wi-Fi at about 300 Mbps, enough for vendors and a live stream.
- Music: outside until midnight, then the party moves into the yurt so the tents can sleep.
- Parking: a normal car can struggle on the last road; with a 4x4 you park at the top of the camp by the sign. The Khulo cable car is closed, so guests without a 4x4 take our cars from Khulo.
- Site visit: on weekends, or as a live video walk-through.
Step by step: what to book, in what order, how far ahead
Summer Saturdays from June to September book 6-12 months ahead. Book in this order:
- The venue, 6-12 months ahead. It fixes the date, the guest count and the style. At Glamping Tago a 30% prepayment confirms the date and is not refundable.
- The planner or coordination, right after. Decide whether you plan with the vendor guide, a planner or our coordination.
- The paperwork route. Counter registration, a registrar at the venue (255 GEL), or a paperwork agency; plan the apostille if your country needs it.
- Host, DJ and photographer, once the date is fixed. Ask each one to quote the ride to the venue on top of the fee.
- Transfers for guests and vendors. Collect every guest's flight or train time; at our camp the transfer plan is built a few days before.
- Programme, vendor list and mood board, 30 days before. At our camp this is when we say honestly what we make here and what has to come from Batumi.
- Final headcount and rooming list, 7 days before. The food headcount becomes the invoice.

Questions people ask
Do I need a wedding planner to get married in Georgia?
No. Registration at a Public Service Hall counter is free on weekdays, and you need only your passports and two adult witnesses. A planner or agency is worth paying for translations, a next-day apostille, and for a wedding with guests, vendors and a timeline to run.
How much does a wedding planner cost in Georgia (the country)?
Full planning costs 9-15% of the wedding budget, about 2,000-6,000 GEL on a 20,000-40,000 GEL wedding; Tbili Weddings charges a $600 minimum. Paperwork-only agencies charge $200-$500. At Glamping Tago our own coordination is a fixed 2,000 GEL.
What is the difference between a wedding agency, a planner and a coordinator in Georgia?
Most Georgian agencies sell fixed packages: paperwork, a ceremony and photos at a set price. A planner builds the whole wedding (concept, vendors, contracts, payments) for a share of the budget. A coordinator joins near the date, builds the day's timeline and runs the day on site; some venues, like ours, offer this themselves.
Is there a wedding agency in Batumi for foreigners?
Yes. Iremi Wedding plans weddings in Adjara in Russian and English, Get Married in Georgia registers marriages in Batumi from $200, and Tbilisi agencies such as Tbili Weddings, Lotus and Shu sell Batumi packages. The Batumi wedding palace was demolished in 2026, so registrations happen at the Public Service Hall or with a registrar at your venue.
Can a registrar marry us at our venue in Georgia?
Yes. A registrar travels to a venue anywhere in Georgia for 255 GEL. You file the application in advance at a Public Service Hall and bring two adult witnesses on the day.
Should we pay the venue through our wedding agency?
No. Pay the venue deposit yourself, in your name, and pay the agency in stages against a signed contract. Reviews on Georgian directories describe agencies that took the full amount and left the venue unpaid.
How far ahead should we book a wedding in Georgia?
Book the venue 6-12 months ahead for a Saturday between June and September, then the planner or coordination, then the host, DJ and photographer. At Glamping Tago a 30% prepayment confirms the date, the programme is due 30 days before and the final headcount 7 days before.
Do we need a planner for a wedding at Glamping Tago?
Not necessarily. Our venue team runs the rooms, food, tent and timing on the day for every wedding, and booked couples get our vendor guide. If you want one person to book the vendors and run the day, our coordination costs a fixed 2,000 GEL, or you plan with our partner Iremi Wedding.
