A wedding photographer in Georgia (the country) costs about 450-500 USD or 1,100-1,300 GEL for a 3-hour registration shoot in Tbilisi and 700-1,500 USD for a full 8-10 hour wedding day in 2026. Batumi studios start lower, from 850 GEL. A videographer adds 490-2,000 USD, usually with the drone included. Travel outside the photographer's home city is charged on top almost everywhere.
Where you marry decides most of the cost and most of the photos: a 20-minute Tbilisi viewpoint, a seaside garden in Batumi, or a whole mountain weekend in Adjara. This guide compares the settings, lists 13 photographers and videographers with public 2026 prices and contacts, and covers the drone and church rules that catch couples out.
Which setting fits your wedding photos?
Pick the setting first, then the photographer: the setting fixes the travel fee, the light you shoot in and how many hours you need. The table compares the six places couples in Georgia shoot most.

Glamping Tago (our venue), Adjara
- Where: Village Tago, Khulo municipality, at about 1,200 m in mountainous Adjara
- Drive: 92.5 km from Batumi, about 2 to 2.5 hours; the last 9.4 km from Khulo is a mountain road for 4x4 cars and minibuses
- Capacity: up to 100 wedding guests, 33 of them sleeping on the ridge in 12 Lotus Belle tents and a 9-bed dormitory dome, the rest in village guesthouses below
- Season: weddings from May to mid-October
- Photo spots on site: the ceremony meadow facing the mountains, a forest clearing, a valley overlook, the event tent on its wooden deck and the fire circle
Glamping Tago is a mountain camp you book whole, so a wedding here is a weekend rather than one evening, and the photographer can follow it from the getting-ready dome to the bonfire without anyone leaving the venue. It suits couples who want nature in every frame and a group of up to 100 who stay the night. It does not suit a couple who wants a hotel ballroom, a seaside backdrop or a 20-minute transfer from the airport.

Peony Events prices an 8-hour photographer at 450 USD in Tbilisi and 585 USD in Kakheti or Gudauri, which shows the regional mark-up in one line. Photo and video together usually take 10-15% of a wedding budget in Georgia, according to Kate & Co.
How much does a wedding videographer cost, and is the drone included?
A wedding videographer in Georgia costs 490-2,000 USD in 2026, from a 3-hour clip to a two-camera film of the whole day. With a dedicated wedding videographer the drone is usually inside the package; with a photographer it is an add-on, from 100 GEL in Batumi.
- 490-1,700 USD: Wedding Videographer Georgia in Batumi, drone in every package (details below).
- 650-2,000 USD: our partner videographer packages at Glamping Tago, drone included: 5 hours and a clip up to 3 minutes 650 USD; 8 hours and a film up to 5 minutes 980 USD; 10 hours with a 7-10 minute film and a teaser 1,500 USD; two operators and a 10-15 minute film 2,000 USD.

- Drone add-on: Kseniya Kinasova +100-120 GEL; Irakli Shelia 60 USD for photos or 80 USD for video per location.
A separate drone team costs 500-2,000 GEL per wedding (raw footage 800-1,000 GEL, an edited film 1,000-2,000 GEL). You do not need one if your videographer already flies a drone.

What does it cost to bring a photographer to a mountain venue?
Count three extra costs: the car, the travel time and, for an evening wedding, a bed. For Glamping Tago that means a vendor car from Batumi at 530 GEL return, a travel surcharge of about 100 GEL to 100 USD from Batumi photographers, and a bed on site if they stay the night.

- The car: a 4x4 from Batumi to Tago costs 265 GEL one way per car of 4 seats, so 530 GEL there and back. Pool the photographer, videographer, host and DJ into one car where you can. A 15-seat minibus costs 410 GEL one way.
- The travel surcharge: Batumi photographers and videographers we work with add 100 GEL to 100 USD for the trip to Tago, on top of the car. Tbilisi photographers charge more: Irakli Shelia adds 30% for Adjara, and Gvedashvili and Korinteli bill the transfer separately.
- The hours: the drive takes 2 to 2.5 hours each way and is not part of the shooting time. A photographer who leaves Batumi at 09:00 is with you by about noon.
- By public transport: a marshrutka runs Batumi to Khulo every 30 minutes from 08:00 to 20:00, about 2.5 hours for about 10 GEL, then a 4x4 taxi from Khulo to Tago takes 30-35 minutes for 75 GEL per car. Full details are on our how to get to Glamping Tago page.
Can you fly a drone at your wedding in Georgia?
Yes, at a private wedding on private land, with the owner's consent and a drone registered in Georgia. The Georgian Civil Aviation Agency (GCAA) requires registration for any drone of 250 g or more, and for a lighter drone if it carries a camera, which every wedding drone does.
- Registration: mandatory for drones of 250 g or more, and for sub-250 g drones fitted with a camera or any sensor that can record personal data, per the GCAA FAQ. The drone carries the operator's registration number.
- Foreign pilots: an operator registration from an EU (EASA) country is not valid in Georgia. A foreigner registers in person at the GCAA office in Tbilisi (Ortachala) with a passport, an active Georgian SIM for the SMS code and access to email. It is free and takes a few minutes.
- Test: the online remote-pilot test (A1/A2/A3) is free, the pass mark is 75% and the certificate is valid for 5 years, per the GCAA announcement. It is only needed for drones over 250 g.
- Flight limits: visual line of sight, a maximum of 120 m above the ground, and never over gatherings of people. In the A2 subcategory the drone keeps at least 30 m horizontally from uninvolved people (5 m in low-speed mode).
- Public events: flying in and around public events needs special permission from GCAA.
- Private land: open-category flights over private property are allowed with the owner's prior consent. Night flights are allowed with green and red flashing lights, and the pilot must be 16 or older.
- No-fly zones: the Georgian eAIP sets a restricted zone with a 1.6 nautical mile radius over central Tbilisi (Sololaki), where flights need air traffic permission, and a zone around Batumi airport, where drones need the aerodrome operator's permission. The zones are on the GCAA airspace map.
The UAS department of GCAA answers on +995 32 294 80 10 (extension 106) and UAS-GA@gcaa.ge.
Where are the best wedding photo locations in Georgia, and when is the light best?
Shoot in the hour before sunset wherever you are: the midday sun is harsh, so build the couple's session around the golden hour, as Creator's destination-wedding guide and our own wedding timeline both do. In Kazbegi go in the morning instead, because clouds tend to cover Mount Kazbek by evening.
Tbilisi: Old Town, Sololaki, Mtatsminda
The classic Tbilisi set is the courtyards of Old Tbilisi and Sololaki, the Botanical Garden and the Abanotubani sulfur baths, the Fabrika courtyard, and the Mtatsminda viewpoints at sunset, as Mamuka's Tbilisi wedding guide lays out. A 3-hour package covers a registration and a walk, and no travel fee applies. Central Tbilisi sits inside the Sololaki drone zone, so plan aerial shots elsewhere.
Jvari Monastery, Mtskheta
Jvari stands on the hill above Mtskheta, 23.2 km from central Tbilisi, and is the classic church viewpoint for a registration-day shoot near the capital. It is a working monastery: no flash, no photos during services, and photo rules tightened in 2026 at Jvari and Sioni after complaints. Several October 2026 reviews say the interior is under renovation, so plan exterior and viewpoint shots.
Gergeti Trinity Church, Kazbegi
Gergeti stands at 2,170 m above Stepantsminda, about 3 hours and 158 km by car from Tbilisi on a paved road; the last climb from the village to the church is a track for 4x4 cars, or a walk. There is no entrance fee and exterior photography is free; inside, photos need permission and never during a service, per this Gergeti guide. Morning and mid-morning give the best light, per Sunny Georgia. Tbilisi photographers price Kazbegi as a trip: Irakli Shelia has a 1,500 GEL minimum there, and Anna Khomutova's 6-hour Premium covers it.

Sighnaghi and Kakheti
Sighnaghi is 109.8 km and about 2 hours from Tbilisi. The Rtveli grape harvest runs from late September to late October, with the peak in the first two weeks of October and 15-22 C by day, per Sakhva Travel. Daria Filkova's 5-hour mountain wedding package (750 USD) includes Kakheti.
Batumi Botanical Garden and the seafront
Batumi's photo spots are the seafront boulevard, the breakwaters, Green Cape, the Botanical Garden, Piazza, the Greek church of St Nicholas and the Astronomical clock. Summers are humid and spring and autumn rainy, so a Batumi shoot needs a plan B, per Wedding in Georgia. At the Batumi Botanical Garden, a wedding party pays 250 GEL to enter and a ceremony on the ritual podium in the Seaside Park costs 300 GEL; an ordinary foreign visitor ticket is 25 GEL, and the garden takes 2-3 hours to walk.
The Adjara mountains
At Glamping Tago the meadow, the forest and the valley are a two-minute walk from the tents, so the couple's session needs no car. The hills are green in May and June and golden in September and early October; late August can be rainy, and the event tent and the yurt are the rain plan.

Can you take photos in Georgian churches?
Yes, outside freely and inside without flash in most churches, but never during a service, and video only with the priest's consent. For a church crowning, the photographer works quietly and video is usually shot from one fixed spot the priest agrees to.
- No flash inside, ever: it damages the frescoes. Stay away from the iconostasis and the Royal Doors.
- Video needs the priest's consent, usually from a fixed spot, per WedInGeorgia. A drone near the church needs separate permission.
- Dress code for the photographer: long sleeves and knees covered, a headscarf for women.
- Length: an Orthodox crowning takes 40-60 minutes, and Lotus Wedding plans 1 to 1.5 hours depending on the church and the priest. Book coverage for at least an hour for the church alone.
- Monks and nuns are never photographed without their permission, and rules differ from church to church. Ask the parish before the day.
How do you book a wedding photographer in Georgia: deposits, delivery and contracts?
Independent photographers hold your date with 40-50% up front; studios take a fixed 50-100 GEL. Previews arrive within 48 hours to a week, and the full gallery in 2 weeks to 3 months.
| Term | What to expect | Examples |
|---|---|---|
| Deposit | 40-50% from freelancers, 50-100 GEL from studios, usually non-refundable but the date can be moved | Otkrytyi 50%, Begadze 40% (engagement), 650 Studio 100 GEL, Kinasova 50 GEL |
| Previews | 48 hours to 1 week | Alex & Polly 30 frames in 3-5 days, Gvedashvili 10 in a week |
| Full gallery | 14 days to 3 months | 650 Studio 20 days, Begadze 4-6 weeks, Alex & Polly 45-60 days, Gvedashvili 2-3 months |
| Rush delivery | about +30% for 14 days | Begadze, Otkrytyi, Filkova; 650 Studio +200 GEL for one week |
| Video teaser | 7-10 days | Wedding Videographer Georgia |
Get these in writing before you pay the deposit: the hours and when they start, the number of edited photos, the delivery date, the travel fee and who books the car, the drone and who holds its registration, and whether the raw files are included.
How do photographers work at a wedding weekend at Glamping Tago?
The photographer arrives with the morning and stays through the golden hour and the first dance, and often the night. Because the whole camp is yours, every location is a short walk away and nobody else is in the frame.

A typical day from our organizer guide:
- 09:00 the photographer leaves Batumi with the other vendors.
- 12:00 arrival and getting ready in the heated yoga dome, which is the getting-ready room on the day.
- 16:00 ceremony on the meadow, or in the event tent if it rains.
- 17:00 canapés and toasts by the yurt while the couple shoots in the golden hour.
- 19:00 dinner in the event tent, with Yurtalicious, our yurt restaurant, cooking on site.
- 20:30 cake, first dance and fireworks.
- Midnight the music moves from outside into the yurt.
That is 8 to 9 hours of shooting from getting ready to the first dance, so book an 8-10 hour package or ask for the evening only. Couples who book get our vendor guide with vetted photographers and videographers, mostly from Batumi, with their contacts and prices. A local Adjaran photographer for a full day starts at 800 GEL, and our regular partner photographer works in packages of 425-750 USD, from 3-4 hours with 300+ photos and reels to a full day with a love-story shoot. See weddings at Glamping Tago and the wedding site.
Step by step: what to book, in what order, how far ahead
- Venue and date first. At Glamping Tago, June to September dates book 6-12 months ahead. The date decides which photographers are free.
- Photographer next, 3-6 months ahead, as Creator's guide advises. Shortlist two or three from the lists above, check their Instagram for recent weddings, and ask about the date.
- Videographer and drone together. If the videographer flies a drone, skip the separate drone team and the photographer's drone add-on.
- Agree the travel in writing: the surcharge, the car and the bed.
- Pay the deposit and get the contract with hours, number of photos and delivery date.
- One month out, send the photographer the timeline, the family photo list and the venue's drone times.
- On the day, give one person the job of gathering people for the group photos.

Questions people ask
How much does a wedding photographer cost in Georgia?
In 2026 a 3-hour shoot in Tbilisi costs about 450-500 USD or 1,100-1,300 GEL, and a full 8-10 hour wedding day 700-1,500 USD with an independent photographer. Georgian studios charge less, from 700 GEL for a full day in Tbilisi and 1,300 GEL in Batumi. Travel outside the photographer's city is extra.
How much is a wedding videographer in Georgia?
Between 490 and 2,000 USD per wedding. Wedding Videographer Georgia in Batumi charges 490 USD for up to 3 hours and 960 USD for up to 10 hours, and our partner videographer's packages at Glamping Tago run from 650 to 2,000 USD. Both include a drone.
Can I fly my own drone at my wedding in Georgia?
Only after registering it with the Georgian Civil Aviation Agency, which is free but done in person in Tbilisi with a passport and a Georgian SIM card. Any drone with a camera must be registered whatever its weight, and an EU registration is not valid. Hiring a local videographer with a registered drone is simpler.
Do Batumi photographers travel to the mountains in Adjara?
Yes. Batumi photographers and videographers we work with add 100 GEL to 100 USD for the trip to Glamping Tago, and the car (530 GEL there and back for a 4x4) is booked and paid separately. The drive takes 2 to 2.5 hours each way.
Can the photographer stay overnight at Glamping Tago?
Yes. Because a wedding books the whole camp, the 9-bed dorm dome is part of your booking and works well for vendors. A photographer who stays shoots the bonfire and the next morning, and you skip the late car back to Batumi.
When is the best light for wedding photos in Georgia?
The hour before sunset almost everywhere, because the midday sun is harsh. In Kazbegi shoot in the morning, since clouds tend to cover Mount Kazbek by evening. Our wedding timeline at Glamping Tago puts the couple's photos at 17:00, right after the 16:00 ceremony.
Can a photographer shoot inside a Georgian church during the wedding?
Usually yes with the priest's consent, but never with flash, and video is normally shot from one fixed spot. Some monasteries ban all interior photography, so ask the parish first. The photographer should dress modestly, with long sleeves and covered knees.
How long do Georgian photographers take to deliver the photos?
Previews arrive within 48 hours to a week and the full gallery in 14 days to 3 months: 20 days at 650 Studio, 45-60 days at Alex & Polly, 2-3 months at Maria Gvedashvili. Faster delivery usually costs about 30% more.
