Join us behind the wheel for a professionally driven adrenaline tour. One day of adventure exploring the mountain regions of Adjara. Our small tour includes: visiting Skhalta Monastery and Otsinari Lake. We offer pure adrenaline travel on the legendary UAZ car.
The region of Skhalta was well advanced in the Middle Ages. The shortest road from Ajara towards Artaani passed through here. The Skhalta monastery is more or less originally preserved sample of medieval sacred architecture in Ajara. The main construction of the complex is Skhalta Virgin Church. It is a single-nave hall-type church. There is no information available about the construction of the church. Traditional reports and artistic peculiarities connect the construction of the Skhalta Church to Queen Tamar and the middle of the 13th century.The so called Skhalta Small Church is situated south-west to the church. The distinguished frescoes of the church belong to the 14th-15thcenturies. The decorations are based on centuries-old wall painting traditions as well as novelties of modern Byzantine wall painting. The frescoes were restored in 1990s.

This lake is located in the Skhalti valley, in the village of Pachkha, on Mount Otsinari.
In the legend, Queen Tamar was accompanied by her companion Amala to the mountain.
In response to the viziers’ question as to where Queen Tamar was, her servants replied that she was – “In front of here”

Both the mountain and the lake were named Otsinari! Swimming in the lake is possible only until the end of June, after the lake dries up.
There is no doubt that the UAZ is the most legendary vehicle produced in the Soviet Union. This vehicle is legendary for its dependability and off-road capabilities. It was used by the Red Army and gained huge popularity in former Soviet and Eastern European countries.
Besides being a powerful off-road car, it’s very easy to fix. Almost every village driver knows how the car works, and there is always someone who can fix it.
Off-road enthusiasts enjoy driving and maintaining UAZs in the mountainous region of Adjara, which is a real test for a car’s capabilities.
We offer our tour participants the opportunity to drive the legendary car on their own under the guidance of our experienced drivers and guides on a flat area.
