Driving yourself important information
Important message: maps.me
Always use Maps.me in order to get to us other maps do not work. Next to that always follow the road signs! There are some points where even maps.me is not correct but on these points there will always be a sign.
Important message: Khulo – Tago
The road from Khulo to Tago is narrow, difficult and requires a 4×4. We recommend people to leave their car in Khulo and come by a Taxi of one of our local drivers.
If driving yourself you can follow the wooden signs with: “Glamping Tago” on them.
Important message: Tbilisi – Akhaltsikhe – Tago
The road from Akhaltsikhe to Khulo is in a fine condition, but some parts are under maintenance works, so

Important message: Repair work on the road gap in Shuakhevi
Please note that there are repair works ongoing on a small section of the road in Shuakhevi, which may result in occasional closures. The road is open from 13:00 to 14:00 and after 17:00.
Based on this information, we recommend departing from Batumi around 10:30 – 11:00 to ensure timely arrival in Shuakhevi.The distance from Shuakhevi to Khulo is 17km (approximately 20-25 minutes by car).

Another option is to use public transport, from the old bus station in Batumi, the so-called “marshrutka” – minibus. The stencil will indicate Batumi – Khulo ხულო (in Georgian, but you can ask the locals). The cost of the trip is approximately 10 GEL, but only gets you to Khulo, where we can order you a Khulo -Tago shuttle Taxi (see previous section).

Kutaisi to Batumi
From Kutaisi to Batumi there are multiple options:
– Marshutka
– Train
– Auto bus
Marshutka (from the Kutaisi centre)
Most flexible hours and will bring you straight to the station where you can take the Marshutka to Khulo.

Working hours: 08am – 6pm
Price: 20 gel
Train (only from airport)
Most scenic option. The train leaves from the airport and drops you off at the Batumi railway station from which it’s recommended to take a taxi to the bus station.

Auto bus (only from airport)
Most comfortable option. The auto bus leaves from the airport and drops you off at the Batumi cable car.

Train
Most scenic option. The train leaves from the Tbilisi main railway station and drops you off at the Batumi railway station from which it’s recommended to take a taxi to the bus station.

Most flexible hours and will bring you straight to the station where you can take the Marshutka to Khulo. Leaving from: Didube Bus Terminal.
