The best month to get married in Georgia depends on the region more than on the calendar. The west (Adjara) is wet in autumn, and the east (Tbilisi and Kakheti) is wettest in May and June and hot in July and August. Kazbegi has a short summer and long cold nights. This guide gives each region month by month, April to October, so you can pick your date and know what the day will feel like.

What is the best month to get married in Georgia (the country)?
There is no single best month for the whole country. Pick your region first, then your month:
- Adjara mountains (Khulo, Keda, about 1,000-1,200 m): June or the first half of September. Days usually reach 22-25°C, nights drop to 10-13°C, and there are fewer rain days than in May.
- Batumi and the coast: May. It is Batumi's driest month at about 88 mm of rain, against 228 mm in September and 248 mm in October.
- Kakheti: late September to mid-October, during the grape harvest, when days cool to 23-26°C. July and August afternoons reach 28-32°C.
- Kazbegi (Stepantsminda, 1,740 m): July to early September for a ceremony and dinner outside. May and October nights are close to freezing.
- Tbilisi: May, June or late September. July and August afternoons average 30-34°C.
June and September are the two most popular wedding months in the country, and agencies tell couples to book them 8-12 months ahead.
Which venue fits you?
The month narrows the region; the kind of wedding decides the venue. These are the facts that usually decide it:
| Venue | Region | The whole venue for your group | Guests sleep on site | Ceremony outdoors in nature | Drive from nearest airport | Best months there |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Glamping Tago | Adjara mountains, 1,200 m | Yes, always: one wedding at a time | Yes, 33 beds for a wedding of about 30 | Meadow facing the mountains; event tent if it rains | 87 km from Batumi airport, about 2 h | June, September, early October |
| Eco House Merisi | Adjara mountains, Keda | Yes, with a full hotel buyout | Yes, with a buyout | Ceremony platform on a cliff edge | 49 km from Batumi airport, about 1.5 h | May, June, September, October |
| Castello Mare | Adjara coast, Tsikhisdziri | No, a resort with three buildings | Yes, hotel rooms | Cliff above the sea | 29 km from Batumi airport | May, June |
| Tsinandali Estate | Kakheti | No, part of a hotel and estate | Yes, hotel rooms | 18-ha garden and an amphitheatre | 93 km from Tbilisi airport | Late September, October |
| Lopota Lake Resort | Kakheti | No, 310 rooms in 16 buildings | Yes | Lakeside | 105 km from Tbilisi airport | May, late September |
| Northgate Hotel Kazbegi | Kazbegi, 1,740 m | No, a small family hotel | Yes | Mountain views | 170 km from Tbilisi airport | July, August |
| Kiketi Farm | Near Tbilisi, 1,160 m | No, open to day visitors | Some, in Oda houses, cottages and treehouses | Farm grounds above the city | 45 km from Tbilisi airport | May, June, September |
Glamping Tago (our venue), Adjara
Glamping Tago is a glamping camp on a ridge above Tago village in Khulo, mountainous Adjara, at 1,200 m. It is made for weddings of about 30 guests: the whole camp belongs to one wedding at a time, and everyone sleeps on site in 12 heated Lotus Belle tents and a nine-bed dorm. Most couples hold the ceremony on the meadow facing the mountains and move into the 150 m2 event tent for dinner and dancing. Meals come from Yurtalicious, the yurt restaurant on site, and the evening sauna and the fire circle are included.

Daylight, prices and crowds follow the same calendar everywhere in Georgia:
| Month | Daylight | Prices | Crowds and what is on |
|---|---|---|---|
| April | 13.4 h | Low season | Quiet; Easter falls on 2 May in 2027 |
| May | 14.6 h | High season starts for venues | Public holidays on 9, 12, 17 and 26 May |
| June | 15.2 h | High | One of the two most popular wedding months |
| July | 14.8 h | Peak at the coast | Batumi and Kazbegi at their busiest |
| August | 13.8 h | Peak at the coast | Holiday on 28 August (Mariamoba) |
| September | 12.4 h | The most expensive month | The most popular wedding month; harvest from mid-September |
| October | 11.0 h | Back to average | Harvest until mid-October; holiday on 14 October |
Daylight is for Batumi and Tbilisi alike, from WeatherSpark; the sun rises and sets about 12 minutes later in Batumi than in Tbilisi on the same clock. A Georgian agency puts the high-season premium at 20-30% on venues and popular vendors in May-June and September-October.

What is each month like at 1,200 m in the Adjara mountains?
Our camp is open from 1 April to the end of October, and the wedding season runs from May to mid-October: green in May and June, warm and golden in September and early October. At 1,200 m the nights are about 7-9°C cooler than in Batumi, and the Adjara tourism office describes mountain Adjara as drier and cooler than the coast. These are the 10-year averages at the camp, month by month:
- April: days usually reach about 15°C, nights fall to 2-4°C and it rains on about 13 days. The peaks around the camp still carry snow, and in some years a late snowfall reaches the ridge. The whole camp costs the least this month, but plan the dinner and the party indoors in the yurt and the closed event tent.
- May: days of about 19°C, nights of 6-9°C. May is the wettest month at the camp with about 16 rain days, and the meadows are at their greenest. Days are long: 14.6 hours of light.
- June: days of about 24°C and nights of 11-13°C, with the longest days of the year (15.2 hours on 21 June). Rain falls on about 14 days.
- July: the warmest stretch, with days of 24-28°C and nights of about 15°C, while Tbilisi sits at 30-34°C and Kakheti at 28-31°C. July and August are also the dearest months to book the whole camp.
- August: nights of 15-17°C and the fewest rain days of the season (about 11), but the last week can turn rainy, and early August has few flowers in the village gardens, so order flowers from Batumi.
- September: days of 22-25°C, nights of 10-13°C and about 12 rain days. September is Georgia's traditional wedding month, with soft light and the first autumn colour by the end of the month.
- October: days of about 18°C and nights of 5-8°C. The first half is golden and calm; after mid-October the nights get too cold for a dinner outside, and the camp closes at the end of the month.

Mountain weather changes within the hour, so every wedding at the camp has a rain plan: the event tent walls close, and the ceremony moves under the tent or into the yurt, which seats 36 around a wood stove. Nights are cool even in July, so tell your guests to bring a warm layer; the tents are heated.

Eco House Merisi, Keda (Adjara)
Eco House Merisi is the other Adjara mountain venue that sells a whole-hotel buyout. It sits in Silibauri, Keda, 49 km from Batumi airport, with an open ceremony platform of about 50 m2 on the cliff edge, a covered backup space of about 100 m2 and a restaurant hall for up to 50 guests. Its own wedding page names May, June, September and October as the most popular months.
When is the best month for a wedding in Batumi?
May is the best month for an outdoor wedding in Batumi: it is the driest month of the year, with about 88 mm of rain, days of 21-25°C and a sea that warms to about 16°C. June is the next best, and the sea reaches 21°C. From September the rain climbs fast: about 228 mm in September and 248 mm in October, and WeatherSpark puts the wettest month in November.
Rain is a constant on this coast. Batumi gets more than 2,000 mm of rain a year and rain falls on 12-15 days in every month, so a Batumi wedding always needs a covered plan B, even in May. July and August are muggy, the hotels are full of beach holidaymakers and the venues book months ahead; a Batumi wedding atelier suggests June or September for fewer crowds and lower hotel rates than July and August, and tells couples to use weighted decor against the wind.
The longest evenings fall in late June, when the sun sets as late as 20:51. Georgia does not change the clocks, so the sunset gets steadily earlier from July.
Batumi Botanical Garden, Green Cape
The Botanical Garden is the classic ceremony and photo spot on the Batumi coast: on the Green Cape above the sea, 18 km from Batumi airport. Its rose garden has 107 varieties and flowers most from May to September.
Castello Mare, Tsikhisdziri
Castello Mare is a cliff-top resort in Tsikhisdziri, 29 km north of Batumi airport, on a cliff above the Black Sea, with three buildings and a sea-water infinity pool, and it hosts weddings.
Is September a good month for a wedding in Kakheti?
Yes, late September is Kakheti's best month: the heat breaks to days of 23-26°C and the grape harvest (rtveli) is in full swing. For 2026, Kakheti's tourism office put the white grapes (Rkatsiteli and Mtsvane) at 18-30 September and Saperavi at 2-15 October (Travel Guide Georgia), so the core window runs from mid-September to mid-October.

The trade-off is price and crowds. September is the most expensive wedding month in Georgia: Mandarini Wedding says contractors raise their prices and couples plan more than a year ahead, and wine-region hotels fill with harvest tourists. Early October keeps the harvest and brings prices back to average, with nights of about 9°C, so dinner moves indoors or under heaters.
Avoid July and August in Kakheti if you want to be outside before sunset: afternoons reach 28-32°C at Telavi, and nights stay at about 19°C. May and June are green but the rainiest months of the year in the east, with 14-16 rain days.
Tsinandali Estate
Tsinandali Estate has an amphitheatre, a ballroom in the theatre building and an 18-hectare English-style garden, 93 km from Tbilisi airport. Its weddings page also offers a smaller room for intimate dinners.
Kvareli Lake Resort
A 100-room resort on the shore of Kvareli lake, with a spa and event halls, 140 km from Tbilisi airport.
Lopota Lake Resort & Spa
A four-season resort with 310 rooms in 16 buildings around a lake near Napareuli, 105 km from Tbilisi airport. Large enough that a big guest list all sleeps on site.
Vazisubani Estate
A restored 19th-century palace with 19 rooms, 117 km from Tbilisi airport, for an intimate harvest wedding.
When can you have an outdoor wedding in Kazbegi?
July and August are the only months in Kazbegi when a ceremony and a dinner outside are comfortable: days of 20-24°C and nights of about 12°C at Stepantsminda (1,740 m). September is clear and calm, with days of 16-20°C and fewer crowds, but nights fall to 8°C, so plan the dinner indoors.

May is the wettest month in Kazbegi, with 16-20 rain days and nights of about 4°C, and snow lies on the ground on most days until the end of April. In July and August afternoon thunderstorms hit regularly at altitude, Gergeti can have 200 visitors at once and prices run 20-30% above the shoulder months, says Sakhva Travel; the mountains are clearest in the morning, so plan the portraits with Kazbek before noon. A Tbilisi agency recommends July and August for an outdoor ceremony and dinner, and May and June for small weddings with dinner indoors.
The road decides the rest. The Georgian Military Road crosses the Jvari Pass at 2,379 m between Gudauri and Kobi, and the pass can close in snow in any month from October to May. Stepantsminda is about 3.5 hours from Tbilisi airport (170 km) and Gudauri about 2.5 hours (135 km).

Northgate Hotel Kazbegi, Stepantsminda
A family-run hotel in the centre of Stepantsminda with views of Mount Kazbek.
Gudauri Lodge
A 121-room hotel at about 2,000 m next to the first ski slope in Gudauri, with a pool and spa, 135 km from Tbilisi airport.
Rooms Kazbegi
The best-known hotel in Kazbegi, with its terrace facing Mount Kazbek. Its last twelve months of reviews are much weaker than its overall score.
Is July too hot for a wedding in Tbilisi?
Yes, for an afternoon outside. July and August afternoons in Tbilisi average 30-34°C, heat waves reach 38-40°C, and the city's hot season runs from about 6 June to 13 September. A summer wedding in Tbilisi works with a morning or sunset ceremony and dinner after dark.
The best months are May, June and late September to early October. Note the twist: May and June are Tbilisi's wettest months, the opposite of Batumi, so a May garden wedding in the capital needs a tent. Late September has days of 24-28°C and only about 8 rain days. Tbili Weddings also recommends May, June and September, and moves ceremonies indoors from November to March.
Tbilisoba, the city festival, fills the old town in early October (it ran on 3-4 October in 2026), so book hotels early if your date falls on that weekend.
Kiketi Farm, near Tbilisi
A farm with a restaurant, a spa, Oda houses, cottages and treehouses at about 1,160 m, 30 minutes from the city and 45 km from Tbilisi airport. At that height July and August nights are about 16°C, three to four degrees cooler than in town.
Chateau Mukhrani
The winery at the Mukhranbatoni palace in Mukhrani, 60 km from Tbilisi airport.
Which months cost more?
Venues and vendors charge the most from June to September, and September is the dearest month of all; April, May and October cost noticeably less for the same venue. At Glamping Tago the whole camp costs almost twice as much per night in July as in April.

When does the Georgian Orthodox Church not perform weddings?
The Georgian Orthodox Church does not crown couples during the four fasts, in Cheese Week before Lent, in Bright Week after Easter, or on the strict one-day fasts. The church follows the old calendar, so the dates differ from the Russian or Greek tables you may find:
| Period with no church weddings | 2026 | 2027 |
|---|---|---|
| Great Lent | 23 February - 11 April | 15 March - 1 May |
| Bright Week (after Easter) | 12-18 April | 2-8 May |
| Apostles' Fast | 8 June - 11 July | 28 June - 11 July |
| Dormition Fast | 14-27 August | 14-27 August |
| Beheading of John the Baptist, Exaltation of the Cross (and their eves) | 11 and 27 September | 11 and 27 September |
| Nativity Fast | 28 November 2026 - 6 January 2027 | from 28 November |
The 2026 dates are from the Georgian Church's fasting calendar; the 2027 dates follow the same old-style calendar with Easter on 2 May (calend.ru). Parishes also skip the eves of major feasts and some weekdays, so confirm the exact day with the priest before you book the venue. Both partners must be baptised and at least one must be Orthodox, two baptised Orthodox witnesses hold the crowns, and a donation of 200-500 GEL goes to the church. A church wedding has no legal force on its own: the civil registration at the House of Justice can happen the same day.
Which holidays fill hotels?
Orthodox Easter weekend (Good Friday to Easter Monday), 9, 12, 17 and 26 May, 28 August (Mariamoba) and 14 October (Svetitskhovloba) are public holidays, and Georgians travel on them. In Kakheti the harvest weekends, Alaverdoba at Alaverdi Cathedral (28 September) and the Gurjaani Wine Festival in early October fill guesthouses, and in Tbilisi it is Tbilisoba in early October. Book your guests' rooms first if your date touches one of them.
How far ahead should you book, step by step?
Book the venue 12 months ahead for June to September, and 6-9 months ahead for May or October. The order that works:
- 12-15 months before: choose the region and the month with the tables above. If you want a church crowning, check the fasts first.
- 12 months before: book the venue. At Glamping Tago, June-September dates book 6-12 months ahead, and a 30% non-refundable prepayment holds the date. You pay in lari by bank transfer or a payment link; what you use on the day is settled on site against an itemised invoice.
- 9-12 months before: book the photographer, the planner and the music; vendors in Adjara mostly come up from Batumi and charge their ride on top.
- 6 months before: send the guests the date, the nearest airport (Batumi for Adjara, Tbilisi for Kakheti and Kazbegi) and the dress advice for the month: a warm layer for the mountains, light clothes for Tbilisi in summer.
- 2-3 months before: set the church date with the priest, or apply for the civil ceremony. Foreign couples need a passport with a notarised Georgian translation and two witnesses, and the House of Justice registers most marriages within one working day.
- 30 days before: the full programme and the vendor list go to the venue; 7 days before, the final guest count for the food.
How do you get to a mountain wedding in Adjara?
Fly into Batumi. From Batumi airport to Glamping Tago is 87 km and about 2 hours: asphalt up the Adjaristskali valley to Khulo, then a mountain road for 4x4 cars and minibuses for the last stretch. Big coaches cannot reach the camp, so guests come in 15- and 17-seat minibuses and 4x4 cars, or by coach to Khulo and minibus from there.

| Transfer to Glamping Tago | 2026 price, one way |
|---|---|
| Batumi, 4x4 car (4 seats) | 265 GEL |
| Batumi, minibus (15 seats) | 410 GEL |
| Khulo, 4x4 car (4 seats) | 75 GEL |
| Khulo, minibus (15 seats) | 135 GEL |
| Kutaisi, 4x4 car | 465 GEL |
| Tbilisi, 4x4 car | 925 GEL |
Transfers are paid in cash at our reception, never to the driver, and we build the plan from each guest's flight or train time a few days before. Guests who drive themselves need a real 4x4 from Khulo (rental "jeeps" are not always 4x4), or they park in Khulo centre and take our taxi; at the camp, cars park at the top by the sign. Do not follow Google Maps for the last part: use maps.me and our route guide. Starlink Wi-Fi at about 300 Mbps covers the vendors and a live stream for family who cannot travel.
The full route and the road guide are on how to get to Glamping Tago. For the coast and the mountains side by side, read wedding in Adjara: coast or mountains.
Common mistakes when choosing the month

Glamping Tago for this
A mountain wedding weekend at Glamping Tago, May to mid-October
Glamping Tago is made for weddings of about 30 guests: the whole camp on the ridge above Tago belongs to your wedding, and everyone sleeps on site. Most couples come for two or three nights, with the ceremony on the meadow facing the mountains and dinner and dancing in the event tent.
The best months up here are June and the first half of September. May is the greenest, July and August the warmest, and early October the most golden and the best value. Every wedding has a rain plan: the tent walls close and the ceremony moves into the tent or the yurt.

Questions people ask
What is the best month to get married in Georgia?
It depends on the region. June or early September in the Adjara mountains, May in Batumi, late September to mid-October in Kakheti, July and August in Kazbegi, and May, June or late September in Tbilisi. June and September are the most popular months nationwide and book 8-12 months ahead.
When is wedding season in Georgia?
From May to October. [Eventive](https://eventive.ge/ru/skolko-stoit-svadba-v-gruzii/) counts May-June and September-October as high season, with 20-30% higher venue and vendor prices, and Batumi's hotels are fullest and dearest in July and August. Countryside venues often close or move everything indoors from November to March.
Is September a good month for a wedding in Kakheti?
Yes, the second half of September is one of the best: days of 23-26°C and the grape harvest in full swing. It is also the most expensive and most booked month of the year, so book 12 months ahead, or choose early October for lower prices and the end of the harvest.
Can you have an outdoor wedding in Batumi in September or October?
You can, but with a tent. September and October are Batumi's wettest wedding months, with about 228 and 248 mm of rain. May is the driest month, and June the next best choice.
When can you have an outdoor wedding in Kazbegi?
July and August, when Stepantsminda has days of 20-24°C and nights of about 12°C. In September the days are clear but nights drop to 8°C, so dinner goes indoors. The Jvari Pass can close in snow from October to May.
Is July too hot for a wedding in Tbilisi?
For an afternoon outside, yes: July and August afternoons average 30-34°C and heat waves reach 38-40°C. Hold the ceremony in the morning or at sunset, or choose May, June or late September.
When does the Georgian Orthodox Church not perform weddings?
During the four fasts, Cheese Week, Bright Week and the strict one-day fasts. In 2027 that means 15 March to 1 May (Great Lent), Bright Week from 2 to 8 May, 28 June to 11 July, 14-27 August, 11 and 27 September, and from 28 November. Confirm the exact date with the priest.
What happens if it rains on a mountain wedding day at Glamping Tago?
The walls of the 150 m2 event tent close, and the ceremony moves under the tent or into the yurt, which seats 36 around a wood stove. Nights are cool even in summer, and the tents are heated.
Can Glamping Tago host more than 30 guests?
The camp is built for weddings of about 30 and sleeps 33. For a bigger wedding of up to about 100 guests, the other guests sleep in seven family guesthouses in Tago village, 3-10 minutes on foot from the camp.
