Silent Vipassana Retreat at the Forest Edge in Adjara

This is a silent Vipassana retreat for people who want to stop talking, slow down and simply sit. Silence is strict and shared. Guests and staff keep it together. The retreat is held in Russian, and the group is small: up to ten guests with one facilitator.

We begin on the first evening with a welcome tea, a short orientation and dinner. Then comes an opening ceremony in the yoga space, where the rules are explained and the vows are taken. After that, a first meditation outdoors, in a secluded corner away from direct light. The days that follow have a steady rhythm: morning and evening sittings, afternoon practice, simple meals, and tea and rest in between. On the last morning we sit once more, share breakfast, close the retreat together and say goodbye.

It suits anyone ready for a quiet, structured few days, whether you have sat before or want to go deeper. Nothing needs to be brought but yourself. Cushions and blankets are supplied, meals are vegetarian, and a tea station with hot water stays open in the yoga space.

The setting does much of the work. Tago sits at the forest edge in the Adjara mountains, with mountain-view tents to sleep in and no noise beyond the trees. A small group sits comfortably in the heated yoga dome, and the grounds give you room to walk quietly between sessions.

Your host, Mikhail

Mikhail is an experienced Vipassana facilitator who has already led a silent retreat here at Tago. He opens each retreat with a clear explanation of the rules and the vow-taking, and he keeps the timing of the practice steady, so guests can let go of planning and simply sit.

Hosted at Glamping Tago

Every event here happens at our own mountain venue above Village Tago: forest-edge tents, a yurt restaurant, a dedicated yoga shala and a wood-fired sauna.
