Music at a Georgian wedding means three different jobs: someone who runs the evening (a host, or a tamada for the toasts), someone who plays (a DJ, a band or a folk ensemble), and the sound system that carries it all. In Batumi and Adjara each one costs roughly 900 to 1,100 GEL in 2026, and almost nobody includes the trip to a mountain venue.
This guide gives the real 2026 prices from the vendors who work on the Black Sea side of Georgia, names the ones you can book, and explains the parts other guides skip: what a tamada actually does, when you need a Russian-speaking host, what sound works on an outdoor ridge, and when the music has to stop.
What does wedding music cost in Georgia in 2026?
A DJ in Batumi and Adjara typically costs about 900 GEL for an entry package, a wedding host (MC) about 1,080 GEL, live musicians from 800 GEL and a rented sound system about 1,150 GEL. Add 150 to 300 GEL per vendor for the drive to a mountain venue, because none of the vendors in the 2026 quotes includes it.
The numbers below come from 26 priced quotes our team collected in 2026 from DJs, hosts, musicians and sound companies who work in Batumi and Adjara, including a few Russian-speaking hosts based in Tbilisi who travel to the coast. Amounts quoted in USD are converted to GEL approximately.
Bars show the middle half of 2026 quotes, the dot the typical price. Travel to Tago is extra.
| Service (2026 prices) | Vendors quoting | Lowest entry package | Most quotes | Typical | Highest top package | Travel to Tago |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| DJ | 7 | 280 GEL | 650-1,190 GEL | 900 GEL | 2,700 GEL | Not included; one DJ quoted 2,000 GEL from Tbilisi |
| MC / host | 7 | 700 GEL | 1,013-1,890 GEL | 1,080 GEL | 4,050 GEL | Not included; 150 GEL from Batumi |
| Live musicians | 4 | 800 GEL | 800-2,275 GEL | 1,000 GEL | 6,000 GEL | Not included |
| Sound equipment | 8 | 350 GEL | 575-3,125 GEL | 1,150 GEL | 6,210 GEL | Not included; 300 GEL quoted |
The top of the musician range is a fireworks-and-show company, not a band. For a normal wedding, the prices we have paid at our own camp are the better guide: two Georgian musicians for one evening 800 GEL, an Adjaran folk trio with a panduri 900 GEL plus a 50 GEL transfer, and a full party band with its own sound up to 2,500 GEL (organizer guide).
Agencies sell the same services as add-ons, usually in USD and with their margin on top. In their 2026 price lists a DJ costs 345 to 800 USD (Violet Weddings from 345, GEO WED 600, Vowly from 680, Eventive 400-800 for 4-6 hours), a host for the dinner 350 to 1,450 USD, and a cover band 800 to 5,850 USD plus a rider.

Which venue fits the music you want?
Where you marry decides more about the music than who you hire. At a hotel, other guests set the volume and the hours; at a venue you have to yourselves, you do. This table compares the places couples most often weigh up, with Glamping Tago first because it is ours.

Glamping Tago (our venue), Adjara
- Where: a ridge above Village Tago, Khulo municipality, at about 1,200 m
- Drive: about 2.5 hours from Batumi by private 4x4
- Capacity: weddings of about 30 guests, up to 33 sleep on site
- Price from (2026): the whole camp from 3,258 GEL per night (April) to 6,035 GEL (July and August)
- Season: April to the end of October
The whole camp is yours for the weekend, so nobody asks you to turn the music down for the next room. Our JBL party speaker with two wireless microphones is free for the ceremony, the speeches and dinner. For dancing, a DJ sets up in front of the event tent at 21:00, away from the sleeping tents; at midnight the music moves into the yurt, which stays warm for the rest of the night (organizer guide). The weddings page has the camp, the tents and the dates.
Eco House Merisi, Adjara
- Where: Silibauri, Keda municipality, about 50 km from Batumi (Eco House Merisi)
- Capacity: weddings of 20 to 50 guests, restaurant hall for up to 50
- Season: all year
Merisi has its own speakers, ceremony microphones and DJ equipment, which saves a rental, and a covered space of about 100 m2 if it rains. It is a hotel, so other guests stay alongside your wedding.
Lopota Lake Resort, Kakheti
- Where: Napareuli, near Telavi, in the wine region east of Tbilisi
- Capacity: the Oval hall 80, Kakhetian Corner 90, Chateau Buera 220 and the IKE restaurant 250 guests (agency venue page)
- Season: all year
A big resort with 310 rooms. The party happens in a banquet hall and the resort stays open to its other guests.
Kiketi Farm, near Tbilisi
- Where: Kiketi, 30 minutes from Tbilisi
- Price from (2026): the restaurant zone from 5,500 USD, the whole location from 10,000 USD (Violet Weddings)
Kiketi is the Tbilisi-area answer to a private venue, but privacy costs the full buyout; otherwise the farm park has day visitors.
Rooms Hotel Kazbegi
- Where: Stepantsminda, Kazbegi
- Capacity: 156 rooms, banquets in several indoor rooms
Ceremonies run in the courtyard and banquets indoors. Events are not held on the terrace, so that other hotel guests are not disturbed (wedding agency guide). That is the trade-off of a famous hotel: the view is shared and so are the rules about noise.
Tamada or MC: who should run the evening for international guests?
A tamada is the toastmaster of a Georgian feast (supra): one person who proposes every toast, in a set order, and keeps the table together for hours. An MC (host) runs the programme: the entrance, the first dance, the cake, games and the timing with the DJ. Georgian families have a tamada; international and Russian-speaking weddings usually hire an MC, and many couples have both.
Traditionally the tamada is not hired at all: the most eloquent and respected person at the table is appointed (Georgian National Tourism Administration), and at a wedding that person usually comes from the groom's side (TravelAsk). The tamada leads every toast. A guest who wants to add one waits for a pause and asks the tamada's permission first (Sakhva Travel).
The wedding toasts follow an order: to God, the homeland, the parents, the newlyweds, love, children, those who have passed, and friendship (Miel Wedding). Between toasts the men often sing Mravalzhamieri ("Many Years"), a table song in three-voice polyphony; Georgian polyphonic singing is on the UNESCO intangible heritage list. A supra runs four to six hours, and a professional tamada for the evening costs 300-600 GEL (our guide to Georgian wedding traditions).
| Tamada | MC / host | |
|---|---|---|
| Main job | Toasts at the table, in a fixed order | The programme, timing and the DJ cues |
| Usually | A respected relative or friend; sometimes hired | A hired professional |
| Language | Georgian | Russian, English or both |
| 2026 price | 300-600 GEL hired; free if family | 1,080 GEL typical; 700-4,050 GEL |
| Best for | Georgian families, a long supra | Mixed and international guests |

Do you need a Russian-speaking, English-speaking or bilingual host?
Pick the host for the language most of your guests speak, and a bilingual host when the room is split. All the Batumi hosts with public 2026 prices below work in Russian. A bilingual host costs more: Kate&Co Weddings charges from 1,000 USD for one language (Russian or English) and from 1,450 USD for two.
The Russian-speaking market has changed too. At Russian weddings in 2026 the old-style tamada is leaving the stage, and the typical wedding is a cosy party for 25 to 35 relatives and close friends (2026 wedding trends). The hosts below sell modern evenings without stock party games.
On our side, a Russian-speaking MC for 6 hours costs 3,000 GEL through our partners, and a Russian-speaking DJ for 6 hours 2,000 GEL including the transfer from Tbilisi (organizer guide). The Batumi hosts with public prices in 2026:
Marina Nedvizhenko hosts weddings in Russian from Batumi and quotes 150 GEL for the trip to Tago.
Maks Vetlov works from Batumi in Russian and Ukrainian.
Dmitry Novikov is based in Batumi and travels to Tbilisi and across Georgia.
Ruslan Muginov works Tbilisi and Batumi, and can bring a DJ and sound too. On Gorko his 6-hour package is listed at 1,000-1,500 USD.
Oleg Gaidaichuk is another Ukrainian host working in Georgia, with packages of 400-1,100 USD.
| Host (2026 prices) | Based in | Languages | Package | Travel to Tago |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Marina Nedvizhenko | Batumi | Russian | 350-1,300 USD | 150 GEL |
| Maks Vetlov | Batumi | Russian, Ukrainian | 400-1,100 USD | Ask |
| Dmitry Novikov | Batumi, Tbilisi | Russian | 400-1,000 USD | Ask |
| Oleg Gaidaichuk | Georgia | Russian, Ukrainian | 400-1,100 USD | Ask |

What does a DJ in Batumi and Adjara charge, and who to book?
Most DJs in Batumi and Adjara quote 650-1,190 GEL for a wedding package, typically 900 GEL. DJs who charge by the hour ask 70-100 USD, which comes to about 1,134 GEL for a 6-hour evening. Georgian DJs our couples book cost 600-1,500 GEL plus transport.

Evgeniy Govorun is a Batumi event DJ who is also a sound engineer, which is handy at a venue without a fixed system: his DJ package is 400 USD and his sound 350-800 GEL. Serggio Luccini plays weddings and private parties for 1,000 USD or 70-100 USD an hour. For comparison, Sound Group in Tbilisi charges 500-1,000 GEL for 4 hours with transport only in Tbilisi and Mtskheta.

Ask every DJ three things before you compare quotes: does the price include speakers, how many hours, and what the ride to the venue costs. A package that looks cheap in Batumi often has no sound system in it, and the 4-hour sets that Tbilisi DJs quote end long before a mountain party does.
Live band, violin or a Georgian folk ensemble: what does it cost?
A ceremony musician costs 200-650 USD through an agency, a Georgian polyphony group 440-1,300 USD and a cover band 800 USD and up. Booked directly in Adjara it is cheaper: a folk trio with a panduri cost us 900 GEL and two Georgian musicians for an evening 800 GEL.
| Live music (2026 prices) | Booked directly in Adjara | Through an agency |
|---|---|---|
| One musician for the ceremony (violin, sax, guitar) | Violin 1,200 GEL (Batumi) | 200-650 USD |
| Two Georgian musicians, one evening | 800 GEL | - |
| Adjaran folk trio with panduri | 900 GEL + 50 GEL transfer | - |
| Georgian polyphony group | 1,200 GEL for 1 hour (Tbilisi) | 440-1,300 USD |
| Georgian dance show | 1,500 GEL + 400 GEL travel (show ballet) | 650-770 USD |
| Party or cover band with sound | Up to 2,500 GEL | 800-5,850 USD + rider |
Agency prices come from GEO WED, Yuliko, Baltija, Eventive and Vowly; the 1-hour polyphony set is sold by Yolo in Tbilisi.
For the walk down the aisle, Arina Dukmasova is a Batumi violinist who quotes 1,200 GEL for a ceremony.

For a party band from Batumi, Polala lists live music from 250 USD for a solo singer, 400 for a duo, 550 for a trio and 900 for a full band.
Cueup lists Batumi bands at 140-530 USD per event; bands bring their instruments, but the venue may need to supply the PA. Bigger bands add a rider on top of the fee: Vowly lists 700-3,000 USD for a Tbilisi cover band's rider.
What Adjaran folk music sounds like
Adjara has its own dances and instruments, and a folk trio from the mountains is the most local thing you can put at a wedding here. Khorumi is the Adjaran war dance, played on the doli drum and the chiboni bagpipe (Khorumi); Acharuli, also called Gandagana, is the other classic Adjaran dance (Visit Batumi). The folk trio we book sings to the panduri, the Georgian three-string lute. At Adjaran weddings the chiboni played the bride's parents' farewell tune and woke the couple on the second morning (Geofolk).
Keda municipality, between Batumi and Khulo, has village ensembles such as Yagundi, Shimani and the women's group Elesa. The state Khorumi ensemble in Batumi, the Sukhishvili ballet and the Rustavi Ensemble are concert companies: Rustavi asks for at least three months' notice and a full stage rider, which is a concert, not a 30-guest dinner. The national ensemble Erisioni performs Davluri-Kartuli, the romantic entrance dance once danced at the royal court, on its concert stages.
Sound at an outdoor mountain venue: what to rent and what is already there?
A party speaker with two microphones is enough for a ceremony, speeches and dinner for 30 guests. A dance party outdoors needs a DJ system: two powered speakers, a subwoofer, a mixer and someone who runs it. In Adjara that costs 575-3,125 GEL from a rental company, or about 2,600 GEL delivered to Tago with two technicians.

At Glamping Tago there are sockets at the event tent and extension cords on site, but no high-power generator. A DJ rig runs fine on that; a full band with its own backline needs a power check with the sound company before you sign. Starlink Wi-Fi of about 300 Mbps covers vendors and a live stream, but ask the DJ to carry every track offline.

The rental companies in Batumi:
Sound Batumi publishes its prices: an HK Audio Linear 5 PA kit 800 GEL, a Seeburg kit 570 GEL, a band PA 420-480 GEL (speaker systems) and wireless microphones 30-80 GEL each (microphones).
How much sound is enough? A Tbilisi rental company sizes a pair of 15-inch powered speakers for 50-100 guests and adds a subwoofer above 150 (ITGS). For a venue with no mains power at all, generators rent from about 60 GEL a day for 2.7 kW in Tbilisi (Tool Rent Georgia).
Is there a music curfew for weddings in Georgia?
Georgian law sets lower noise limits for night, from 23:00 to 08:00 (Police of Georgia). There is no single wedding curfew; the real limit is your venue's rule and the neighbours.
The limits are measured in decibels where people live and sleep: 30 dB(A) at night in living rooms and bedrooms, 35 in hotel rooms, and 50 in restaurant and bar halls at any hour (Resolution No. 398). Since the 2023 amendments, breaking them costs 150 GEL for a person and 1,500 GEL for a company the first time and 500 and 5,000 the second time (Parliament of Georgia), and 1,000 and 10,000 from the third time (Mapi.ge). Events agreed with the local municipality are treated separately (JJC).
Batumi enforces it. The city's inspectorate measures noise around the clock in season and takes complaints on 598 85 15 20, and by July 2026 it had issued 24 fines after 94 complaints (Georgia Times).

At Glamping Tago there are no neighbours on the ridge. Music stays outside until midnight, then the party moves into the yurt, which stays warm for the rest of the night; our terms let a private event set its music hours in the contract.
How do you book wedding music in Georgia, step by step?
- 6-9 months ahead: book the venue and ask for its music rules (hours, power, where the DJ stands, what sound is there).
- 4-6 months ahead: choose the host first, because the host's language sets the evening. Collect two or three quotes and compare them on the same hours.
- 3-4 months ahead: book the DJ or band and confirm in writing whether speakers are included. If not, book the sound company and send it the venue's power details.
- 2 months ahead: send the host a minute-by-minute script: the entrance, the first words, the toasts, the first dance, the cake, any quiz or games, and the music cue for each.
- 1 month ahead: send song requests to the musicians and the DJ, and the playlist for the ceremony.
- 2 weeks ahead: fix transport. Put the DJ, the host and the photographer into one car where you can.
- On the day: a sound check two hours before the ceremony, and one person (not you) who answers the vendors' questions.
You agree the final price with each musician, host and sound company and pay them directly; at Glamping Tago the vendor guide with their contacts comes free once you book, and our coordination (2,000 GEL) takes the booking off your hands.
How do you get the musicians and the gear to a mountain venue?
Glamping Tago is 92 km from the old bus station in Batumi on the Batumi to Akhaltsikhe road: 85 km of asphalt to Khulo, then a mountain road up to the camp. By private 4x4 it takes about 2.5 hours. Big buses cannot reach us; 15-seat minibuses and 4x4 cars can.

| Leg (2026 prices) | Time | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Batumi to Tago, private 4x4 (up to 4 people) | About 2.5 h | 265 GEL per car |
| Batumi to Tago, minibus (15 seats) | - | 410 GEL |
| Khulo to Tago, 4x4 taxi | 30-35 min | 75 GEL per car |
From Tbilisi it is 298 km and more than 5 hours, which is why hosts and DJs based in Tbilisi either include the transfer (our Russian-speaking DJ does) or charge it on top. Ask for it in the quote.
Common mistakes with wedding music in Georgia
- Comparing quotes without travel. None of the 2026 DJ or host quotes includes the ride to a mountain venue, and one DJ asked 2,000 GEL to come from Tbilisi.
- Expecting the DJ to bring speakers. Batumi DJs often price the DJ and the sound separately, and agencies add DJ equipment from 500 USD. A party speaker is not a dance-floor system.
- No power plan for a band. A band with its own backline can need more power than an outdoor venue's sockets give. Ask for the band's rider and send it to the venue.
- Booking a 4-hour set. Dinner at a mountain wedding ends around 21:00 and the party runs to midnight and beyond; a 4-hour set from 18:00 ends just as people start dancing.
- No script for the host. A host who gets the programme on the day improvises. Send the minute-by-minute plan at least two months ahead.
- Forgetting the tamada. Georgian relatives expect toasts. Agree with the host who leads them, so the family tamada and the MC do not compete for the microphone.

Glamping Tago is made for weddings of about 30 guests: the whole camp on the ridge above Village Tago belongs to your wedding, and everyone sleeps on site. That is what makes the music easy. Questions people ask
How much does a wedding DJ cost in Georgia in 2026?
In Batumi and Adjara most DJs quote 650-1,190 GEL for a wedding package, typically 900 GEL; hourly DJs ask 70-100 USD, about 1,134 GEL for 6 hours. Agencies sell a DJ for 345 to 800 USD. Speakers and the trip to a mountain venue are usually extra.
Do I need a tamada if most of my guests are not Georgian?
You need someone to lead the toasts, but it does not have to be a hired tamada. Most international couples hire an MC for the programme and ask a Georgian relative or friend to lead a few toasts at dinner, with the MC translating. A professional tamada costs 300-600 GEL for an evening.
How much does a Russian-speaking wedding host cost in Batumi?
Russian-speaking hosts in Batumi quote 350-1,300 USD for a package in 2026, and a 6-hour host through our partners costs 3,000 GEL. A bilingual Russian and English host costs more, from 1,450 USD at one agency. Ask whether the trip to the venue is included: one Batumi host quotes 150 GEL to Tago.
Can we bring our own DJ or band from Batumi or Tbilisi?
Yes. At Glamping Tago you book any DJ, host or band you like and pay them directly; our vendor guide is free once you book. They pay their own ride up unless you arrange it, so pool them into one 4x4 from Batumi at 265 GEL per car each way.
Is a party speaker enough for a wedding of 30 guests?
For the ceremony, speeches and dinner, yes: our JBL speaker with two wireless microphones covers that for free. For a dance party you need a DJ system with a subwoofer and a mixer, which costs about 575-3,125 GEL to rent in Adjara, or 2,600 GEL delivered to Tago with two technicians.
Until what time can wedding music play in Georgia?
Georgian noise law treats 23:00 to 08:00 as night, with lower limits and fines from 150 GEL for a person and 1,500 GEL for a company. Each venue sets its own hours inside that. At Glamping Tago music stays outside until midnight, then the party moves into the yurt.
How much does a Georgian folk ensemble cost for a wedding?
An Adjaran trio of three singers with a panduri cost us 900 GEL plus a 50 GEL transfer for one evening. Agencies sell a Georgian polyphony group for 440-1,300 USD and a dance show for 650-770 USD. The big national ensembles are concert companies and need months of notice and a stage.
Can Glamping Tago host a wedding bigger than 30 guests?
The camp is made for weddings of about 30 guests, with up to 33 sleeping on site. Bigger weddings of up to about 100 guests work with the family guesthouses in Village Tago, where the extra guests sleep.
