The road from Batumi follows the Batumi-Akhaltsikhe highway up the Adjaristsqali valley through Khulo: 92 km, about 2 hours by car, and the last 8.9 km to the camp is a mountain road for 4x4 cars and minibuses. Public transport does not work for a wedding morning. The first marshrutka leaves Batumi bus station for Khulo at 08:00 and takes about 2 hours 30 minutes, so an artist on it reaches the camp after 11:00, too late for a 16:00 ceremony with six people in the chair.

That leaves two good options:

1. **The artists come up the day before** and sleep at the camp. Every bed on the ridge belongs to your group, so count them into your tent plan.

## Should the bride get ready in a Batumi salon and drive up?

Only for a very small, late ceremony. A salon look done at 10:00 has to survive a 2-hour drive, a 4x4 road and the ceremony, and a bridal make-up is planned to hold [4 to 6 hours](https://kozlovakris.ru/blog/makeup/svadebnyy/) before it needs touch-ups. Nobody fixes it after you leave the salon.

## What are the most common mistakes?

> **Watch out:** **Travel not in the quote.** The make-up costs 250 GEL and the trip 800 GEL. Ask for the total, with the trip there and back, before you compare artists.

> **Watch out:** **One artist for six people.** Twelve services take one artist 9 hours or more. Book a pair, or two pairs for a big group.

> **Watch out:** **No trial, or a trial too early.** Without a trial you meet your look on the morning. A trial more than 3 months out is wasted, because hair length and skin change.

> **Watch out:** **Forgetting the bed.** An artist who must leave Batumi at 06:00 may ask for a bed the night before. Agree it in writing.

> **Watch out:** **The bride last in the chair.** If anything runs late, it is the bride's look that gets rushed. Put her in the middle.

## Getting ready for a mountain wedding at Glamping Tago

We are Jonas and Lisa, a Belgian couple who fell in love with Georgia and opened Glamping Tago in 2021. The camp is made for weddings of about 30 guests: the whole ridge is yours, everyone sleeps on site, and the wedding is a weekend rather than one evening.

The bride gets ready in the heated dome while the guests have breakfast. Our partner team comes up from Batumi and does her hair and make-up for 400 GEL, trip included; bridesmaids, mothers and the groom are added at 150-250 GEL each. If you bring your own artists, we help you pool them in one car with the photographer.

- **Guests:** Made for weddings of about 30, 33 beds on site, one wedding at a time
- **Getting-ready room:** Heated 38 m2 dome, free; two hair dryers, iron or steamer on request
- **Bride's hair and make-up:** 400 GEL with the trip from Batumi (partner team)

**How much does bridal make-up cost in Batumi in 2026?**

Typically 250 GEL for a wedding make-up package; most of the 13 artists who quoted us for 2026 charge 200 to 400 GEL, the full range is 50 to 800 GEL. Their most complete packages (with hair, extra people or accompaniment) run up to 1,400 GEL. Salons such as LAKmousse charge 250-300 GEL for bridal make-up in the chair.

**How much is a bridal hairstyle in Batumi?**

Typically 200 GEL: the 5 hair stylists who quoted us for 2026 charge 150 to 250 GEL for their entry package and up to 500 GEL for the top one. Salons charge 150-250 GEL (LAKmousse) or 200-250 GEL (L Studio Batumi). A hairstyle trial costs about 150 GEL.

**Do Batumi make-up artists travel to mountain wedding venues, and what do they charge?**

Yes, most do, but they charge the trip on top. For a venue 2 hours from Batumi such as Glamping Tago, make-up artists quoted 50 to 1,000 GEL (typically 150 GEL) and hair stylists 500 to 700 GEL. Only 2 of the 10 make-up artists who quoted the trip include it; our partner team includes it in the 400 GEL bride package.

**How early should I book a wedding make-up artist in Georgia (the country)?**

For a June to September wedding, 6 to 12 months ahead, as soon as the venue and date are fixed. Book Batumi stylists no later than 4 to 6 months ahead. Do the trial 6 to 8 weeks before the wedding, once the dress and accessories are chosen.

**How long do bridal hair and make-up take on the wedding morning?**

The bride needs 2 to 2.5 hours for hair and make-up, about 1.5 hours with two artists working at once. Every bridesmaid or mother needs 45 to 60 minutes per service. For a bride and five others with two artists, start 6 hours before the ceremony.

**Is there a hairdresser at Glamping Tago or in Tago village?**

No. The artists come up from Batumi. Our partner team does the bride's hair and make-up at the camp for 400 GEL including the trip, and adds the groom, mothers or bridesmaids at 150-250 GEL each. The heated dome is the getting-ready room, with two hair dryers and an iron or steamer on request.

**Who pays for the bridesmaids' hair and make-up?**

There is no fixed rule. The [usual custom](https://www.weddingwire.com/wedding-forums/hair-and-makeup-prices-and-paying-for-bridesmaids/2b49fe4548f60bde.html) is that the bride pays when she asks for a professional look, and otherwise each bridesmaid decides and pays. Settle it before you book, because it decides how many artists you need.

**Can a bigger wedding get ready at Glamping Tago?**

Glamping Tago is built for weddings of about 30 guests who all sleep on site. Bigger weddings of up to about 100 guests work with the family guesthouses in the village, where the extra guests sleep. For a bigger bridal party, book two pairs of artists so the morning still fits between breakfast and the ceremony.
