# Wedding in Adjara, Georgia: Batumi Coast or the Mountains? Month by Month, Venues and Prices (2026)

Source: https://glampingtago.ge/blog/wedding-in-adjara-coast-or-mountains · Updated 2026-10-17 · Glamping Tago

## TL;DR

- Registering a marriage in Georgia is free. A ceremony at a House of Justice branch is 75 GEL and 255 GEL if the registrar comes to your venue. The 135 and 225 GEL rates other guides quote apply only to a Wedding House, and Batumi's was demolished in February 2026.
- The national register lists House of Justice branches in Keda, Kobuleti and Khulo as well as Batumi, so a couple marrying in the mountains never drives back to the coast for the paperwork. The Khulo branch is 9 km from Village Tago.
- September brings 262 mm of rain to Batumi on about the same number of wet days as August, so it falls in short violent bursts: on 19-20 September 2026 the city took 275 mm in one storm. In Khulo the clear season runs to about 25 September.
- Batumi to Glamping Tago is about 92 km and about 2 hours. Only Makhuntseti waterfall, Chateau Iveri and the Adjarian Wine House are genuinely on that road; Eco House Merisi, Chateau Milisi and ORTA each sit up their own side valley.
- A coast wedding package for 30 to 50 guests starts at about 5,000 USD; a two-night mountain weekend for 30 guests at Glamping Tago, with everyone sleeping on site, four meals, decor, host and DJ, coordination and transfers, comes to about 27,300 GEL in September.
- Since 1 January 2026 every guest flying in needs their own health and accident policy of at least 30,000 GEL for every day of the stay, at 3.50 USD a person a day. Infants included, and entry can be refused without it.

Adjara gives you two weddings in one region: the Black Sea coast around Batumi and the mountains two hours inland. They have different weather, different venues and different prices. Here is how to choose, month by month, with the real numbers, the registrar's fees and every venue's contacts.

## One region, two climates

Adjara is the south-western corner of Georgia (the country), the strip between the Black Sea and the Turkish border, and it gives you two completely different weddings inside one region. Batumi sits at sea level and is the wettest city in the Caucasus; two hours inland the road climbs past Keda and Khulo into alpine meadows, wooden villages and cold, clear nights.

The altitudes drive everything else. The Batumi boulevard is about 6 m above the sea, Khulo town about 900 m, our own camp in Village Tago 1,200 m, and the [Goderdzi Pass](https://travelguide.ge/en/regions/khulo/) 2,025 m. The [Adjara tourism board](https://visitbatumi.com/en/blog/Climate-and-Weather-in-Ajara) puts the local lapse rate at 0.5 to 0.6 C per 100 m, and 0.7 in summer, so the ridge above Khulo runs 6 to 8 C cooler than the beach on the same afternoon. The region's own department of tourism gives [24 C in the plains against 19 C in the highlands](https://gobatumi.com/public/en/weather-and-seasonality) as the summer average.

We run a venue on the mountain side, Glamping Tago above Khulo, so read our own entry knowing that.

## Which venue fits your wedding?

Coast or mountains is really a question about what kind of wedding you want. A city hotel gives you a ballroom, a short drive and a building full of other guests. The mountains give you the whole place to yourselves for a weekend, with the road and the weather as the price. These are the differences that decide it:

| Venue | Just your wedding? | Beds on site | Setting | Guests | From Batumi |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [Glamping Tago](#place-glamping-tago) (ours) | Yes, the whole camp, one wedding at a time | 33, everyone sleeps on site | Mountain meadow at 1,200 m | About 30 | About 2 h |
| Eco House Merisi | Yes, a full hotel buyout is offered | 54 | Cliff-edge platform | 50-60 | About 1 h |
| Sheraton Batumi | No, a 202-room city hotel | 202 rooms | Indoor ballroom | 600 at a banquet | In the city |
| Hilton Batumi | No, a 247-room city hotel | 247 rooms | Indoor ballroom | 260 at a banquet | In the city |
| Castello Mare | No, a 110-room hotel | 200 beds | Cliff above the sea | Not published | 20.4 km north |
| Panorama, Orbi Sea Towers | No, a banquet complex | None | Top floors of a tower | 500, plus 350 on the roof | In the city |

### Glamping Tago (our venue), Village Tago, Adjara

> **Glamping Tago** (Village Tago, Khulo municipality (Adjara)) - our venue
> Our own camp on the ridge above Village Tago at 1,200 m: whole-camp buyout, one wedding at a time, two nights or more, made for weddings of about 30 guests and retreats of up to 30 people, with everyone sleeping on site. The last 9 km from Khulo needs a 4x4 or a 15-seat minibus.
> Price: Whole-camp wedding buyout from 3,258 GEL a night (April 2026) · Capacity: About 30 guests; 33 beds on site · Season: 1 April to end of October; weddings May to mid-October · Google 4.9 (647)
> Pros: The whole camp is yours: one wedding at a time; Everyone sleeps on site; A two-night wedding weekend, not one evening in a ballroom; Ceremony on a mountain meadow at 1,200 m
> Cons: About 2 hours from Batumi, the last 9 km by 4x4 or minibus; Closed November to March; Made for about 30 guests, not large weddings; A vegetarian kitchen, meat only as a BBQ station

## Weather month by month

The coast is wet all year and gets wetter through the wedding season; the mountains dry out in late summer. Batumi rainfall and wet days are the [1991-2020 climate normals](https://georgiaguidebook.com/planning/when-to-swim-in-georgia/), the air and sea temperatures the [CRU and Met Office series](https://www.weather2travel.com/georgia/batumi/climate/), and the Khulo column the [station record for the town](https://weatherspark.com/y/102427/Average-Weather-in-Khulo-Georgia-Year-Round) at about 900 m.

| Month | Batumi day / night | Batumi rain | Sea | Khulo day / night | Mountain notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| April | 17 / 7 C | 113 mm | 11 C | 12 / 3 C | driest month in the hills, but cold at night; our camp opens 1 April |
| May | 21 / 11 C | 108 mm | 16 C | 17 / 7 C | driest month on the coast, green and wet in the hills |
| June | 24 / 14 C | 142 mm | 22 C | 20 / 10 C | the sunniest month of the year, 235 hours of sun |
| July | 25 / 17 C | 168 mm | 26 C | 22 / 13 C | warm days, afternoon showers, humid on the coast |
| August | 25 / 17 C | 205 mm | 27 C | 23 / 13 C | the clearest skies of the year on both sides |
| September | 23 / 14 C | 262 mm | 25 C | 20 / 9 C | clear in the hills until about the 25th, heavy rain on the coast |
| October | 20 / 11 C | 277 mm | 21 C | 15 / 5 C | golden forests; mountain venues close at the end of the month |

November is the wettest month in Batumi at 312 mm, so September and October are the two wettest months of the wedding season rather than of the year. Across the whole year Batumi takes about 2,435 mm. May is the driest month on the coast and April the driest in the mountains, and August has the clearest skies on both sides: clear, mostly clear or partly cloudy [94% of the time in Batumi](https://weatherspark.com/y/102084/Average-Weather-in-Batumi-Georgia-Year-Round) and 91% in Khulo.

The clear season is the number to plan a mountain wedding around. In Khulo it runs from about 8 June to about 25 September, so a wedding in the first three weeks of September still catches it while the coast is taking its heaviest rain of the season.

> **Watch out:** on 19 and 20 September 2026 Batumi took 275 mm of rain in one storm, and the [National Environmental Agency](https://www.interpressnews.ge/ru/article/177629-natsionalnoe-agentstvo-okruzhaiushchei-sredy-v-batumi-v-techenie-21-chasa-nepreryvno-shel-dozhd-kol-vo-osadkov-za-sutki-iavliaetsia-bespetsedentnym-dlia-sentiabria/) rated the 273 mm measured at the Batumi station inside 24 hours a 1-in-100-year rainfall. It rained for 21 hours without a break and 52.5 mm fell between 21:00 and 22:00 alone. Kobuleti took 134.5 mm the same night and Mtirala 93 mm. A September wedding on this coast needs a roof that is booked, not a roof that is promised.

> **Good to know:** the rain-days trap. Batumi has 11.5 wet days in August and 11.1 in September, so September's extra 57 mm do not arrive as extra drizzle. They arrive as short, violent downpours on about the same number of days, and the month still logs 201 hours of sunshine against October's 176. An outdoor ceremony in September is not usually rained off; it is occasionally destroyed.

Nights are the other half of the story. Above 1,000 m the temperature drops to 9-13 C after dark even in August, so a mountain wedding always needs a warm layer, blankets on the benches and a fire.

At the camp itself, ten-year averages put September nights at 10-13 C and October nights at 5-8 C, with October days usually reaching about 18 C. Plan an October wedding around the wood stoves in the tent and a blanket on every bench. May is the camp's rainiest month of the season, with rain on about 16 days, so for a May date the closed tent is plan A, not plan B.

## The coast: Batumi and the beach towns

The coast is where you go for 100 or more guests, a bathroom for each of them, a ballroom with a rain plan built in and an airport 7 km from the altar. It is weakest in autumn rain, July and August humidity, and the fact that the wedding is one evening in a room rather than a weekend together.

Coast hotels in Adjara quote weddings per event rather than by package, so the numbers below are the room counts, the ballroom capacities and the per-guest rates the market charges.

### Sheraton Batumi

**Where:** 28 Rustaveli Ave, in the Old Boulevard district, 450 m from the promenade. **From Batumi airport:** 6.7 km, 10 to 20 minutes. **Capacity:** Grand Ballroom 972 m2, banquet 600, reception 1,000, theatre 850; 9 event rooms and 1,128 m2 in total. **Good for:** the biggest formal dinner on the coast. **Watch out:** the ballroom is indoors, the hotel's 202 rooms are shared with other guests, and its Google reviews from the last 12 months average 4.1 against 4.6 overall.

This is the largest hotel ballroom in the region and the default for a 300-plus guest list, with [202 rooms](https://sheraton.batumishotel.com/en/) above it so the whole party sleeps in the same building. Its own [events pages](https://www.marriott.com/en-us/hotels/bussi-sheraton-batumi-hotel/events/) offer space for up to 1,000 guests.

> **Sheraton Batumi Hotel** (Rustaveli Avenue, Batumi (Adjara))
> The largest hotel ballroom on the Adjara coast and the default for a 300-plus guest list, with the whole party sleeping upstairs.

### Radisson Blu Batumi

**Where:** 1 Ninoshvili St, on the boulevard. **Capacity:** 168 rooms, with the Clouds restaurant on the top floor that couples use for the dinner. **Good for:** a sea-view reception in the middle of town. **Watch out:** the rooms.

Guests praise the sea view, the location and the staff, and its Google reviews from the last 12 months are almost all five stars. What it cannot give you is privacy: Clouds is a working restaurant in a 168-room city hotel, so ask in writing whether your dinner closes it to other diners. Block rooms only after seeing the category you are being offered.

> **Radisson Blu Batumi** (Batumi boulevard (Adjara))
> A sea-view reception in the middle of town, with the Clouds restaurant on the top floor for the dinner. It is a 168-room city hotel, so the restaurant and the rooms are shared with other guests.
> Capacity: 168 rooms; the Clouds restaurant on the top floor is the dinner space · Season: All year · Google 4.6 (4513)
> Pros: Sea view and a central location; The Clouds restaurant on the top floor for the dinner
> Cons: A city hotel shared with other guests; Clouds is a working restaurant, not a private hall

### Hilton Batumi

**Where:** 40 Rustaveli Ave. **Capacity:** Rustaveli Ballroom 385 m2, banquet rounds 260, theatre 378, and it splits into two halves of 80 each; [247 guest rooms](https://www.cvent.com/venues/batumi/hotel/hilton-batumi/venue-cba83ba4-cc42-4ad6-9280-6f16c720aac9). **Good for:** a 150-260 guest dinner with a Sky Bar Nephele afterparty on the top floor. **Watch out:** three October 2026 Google reviews complain about dated rooms, slow housekeeping or a late check-in. Ask for a renovated category and get your guests' check-in time in writing.

> **Hilton Batumi** (40 Rustaveli Ave, Batumi (Adjara))
> A 150 to 260 guest ballroom with the Sky Bar Nephele upstairs for the afterparty. Recent reviews praise the location and the breakfast and complain about dated rooms.
> Capacity: Rustaveli Ballroom about 385 m2: banquet 260, theatre 378, splits into two halves of 80; 247 rooms · Season: All year · Google 4.5 (4590)
> Pros: A ballroom for 150 to 260 guests; The Sky Bar upstairs for the afterparty
> Cons: An indoor ballroom in a city hotel; Several October 2026 reviews call the rooms dated

### Le Meridien Batumi

**Where:** the Batumi Tower, the tallest building in the city. **Capacity:** 105 rooms, 9 event rooms and 1,238 m2 of event space, but the largest single space takes 200: Black Sea Ballroom 190.9 m2, La Brasserie reception 200, Latitude Bar reception 120. **Good for:** a 100-200 guest wedding with the best skyline in Batumi. **Watch out:** you share the tower with hotel guests, and no single room takes more than 200, so a bigger list needs another venue.

> **Le Meridien Batumi** (Batumi Tower, Batumi (Adjara))
> The best skyline in Batumi, in the tallest building in the city, for a 100 to 200 guest wedding. No room takes more than 200, so it suits a mid-size list.
> Capacity: 105 rooms, 9 event rooms, 1,238 m2; largest single space takes 200 · Season: All year · Google 4.5 (841)
> Pros: The best skyline view in Batumi; Event rooms for up to 200
> Cons: A city hotel shared with other guests; No room takes more than 200 guests

### Panorama, Orbi Sea Towers

**Where:** 15b Sherif Khimshiashvili St, floors 31 to 33, with the rooftop on 34. **Capacity:** 500 seated over the three floors plus 350 more on the rooftop, the largest restaurant complex in Adjara. **Open:** 12:00 to 00:00. **Good for:** a big Georgian supra with a 360-degree view over the city and the sea. **Watch out:** the view and the kitchen carry it. Two October 2026 Google reviews complain about long waits for dishes and music too loud for dinner, and its reviews from the last 12 months average 4.1. Those are exactly what strain at a 500-seat banquet.

Book it through the [Orbi Hotels page](https://orbihotels.com/restaurant-panorama) or the [panorama_batumi Instagram](https://www.instagram.com/panorama_batumi/). The website link on its Google Maps entry points at a domain that no longer belongs to the restaurant, so ignore it.

> **Panorama Restaurant (Orbi Sea Towers)** (15b Sherif Khimshiashvili St, Batumi (Adjara))
> The largest banquet complex in Adjara, with a 360-degree view over the city and the sea. The view and the kitchen carry it; service, music and waiting time are the weak categories, and those are what strain at 500 seats. Book through orbihotels.com, never the old panorama-batumi.com address.
> Capacity: 500 seated over floors 31-33 plus 350 on the rooftop (floor 34) · Season: All year, 12:00-00:00 · Google 4.4 (2226)
> Pros: 500 seated plus a rooftop for 350; A 360-degree view over the city and the sea
> Cons: A banquet complex in a tower, not a private venue; Several recent reviews mention slow service and long waits

### Castello Mare, Tsikhisdziri

**Where:** on the cliff at Tsikhisdziri, 20.4 km and about 30 minutes north of Batumi. **Capacity:** 110 rooms, 200 beds and a conference hall, per the [official Adjara tourism listing](https://visitajara.com/en/hotels/544); rooms 150-500 GEL a night. **Good for:** a cliff-top ceremony with the sea below and the whole party sleeping on site. **Watch out:** its Google reviews from the last 12 months average about 4.0, against 4.6 overall. Several 2026 reviews describe rooms in need of renovation and criticise the all-inclusive buffet, so see the room block and taste the menu before you sign.

> **Castello Mare Hotel & Wellness Resort** (Tsikhisdziri, Kobuleti municipality (Adjara))
> A cliff-top ceremony with the sea below, 20.4 km north of Batumi, with the whole party sleeping on site. Its 2026 reviews have slipped, so we list it with its weak points rather than as a recommendation.
> Price: 150-500 GEL a room per night · Capacity: 110 rooms, 200 beds, conference hall · Season: All year · Google 4.6 (1463)

### Georgia Palace, Kobuleti

**Where:** Agmashenebeli Ave 275, Kobuleti, 30.7 km and about 40 minutes north of Batumi. **Capacity:** 7 meeting and conference rooms with multimedia, sound and lighting, plus a wedding ceremonies service; weddings are quoted per event. **Good for:** a beach-resort wedding with a spa and a pool for the day after.

Weddings and corporate events are core business here all season, which is why the [events team](https://gph.ge/en/events) has the rooms and the staff for yours. It also means your date competes for them: book early, and ask what else is in the building on the nights your guests arrive.

> **Georgia Palace Hotel & Spa Kobuleti** (Agmashenebeli Ave 275, Kobuleti (Adjara))
> A beach-resort wedding 38 minutes north of Batumi, with a spa and pool for the day after. Guests report weddings and events here as often as every other night with loud bass until midnight, which matters for anyone arriving early.
> Capacity: 7 meeting and conference rooms; weddings quoted per event · Season: All year · Google 4.6 (1551)
> Pros: A beach resort with a spa and pool for the day after; 38 minutes north of Batumi

### ORTA Batumi

**Where:** village Ortabatumi on the Adjaristsqali, 9.7 km and 15 minutes from the boulevard. **Capacity:** main hall up to 1,000, riverside terrace up to 120, bamboo grove up to 200, private gazebos 8 to 30 each. **Price from:** 80 GEL a guest for the wedding menu, full day 10:00 to 02:00, 50 to 1,000 guests. **Good for:** a river-and-mountain setting 15 minutes from town at a published price.

ORTA is the one venue near Batumi with a wedding menu price on its own [banquets page](https://ortabatumi.com/en/banquets), and it will privatise the whole restaurant for a large wedding. The kitchen is built around fresh river trout, the bamboo aisle and the riverside are its two ceremony spots, and there are cottages on site for guests who stay over. It is not on the road to the mountains: going via ORTA adds 13.9 km to the Khulo drive.

> **Ortabatumi Crystal Trout (ORTA Batumi)** (Village Ortabatumi, Khelvachauri municipality (Adjara))
> The one venue near Batumi that publishes a wedding menu price, 80 GEL a guest for a full day from 10:00 to 02:00, with a bamboo aisle for the ceremony, river trout in the kitchen and cottages on site. Up its own valley on the Adjaristsqali, not on the Khulo road.

### Ajara Palace

**Where:** 154B Alexander Pushkin St, Batumi. **Open:** 10:00 to 00:00. **Good for:** a city banquet at Georgian prices rather than hotel prices, useful as the benchmark you compare a venue buyout against.

Batumi's banquet halls sit in a [middle price segment of up to about 60 GEL a head](https://madloba.info/en/batumi/banquet-halls/), and [this one](http://ajarapalace.ge/) publishes its menu prices in lari: most main courses land between 15 and 38 GEL.

### Dreamland Oasis, Chakvi

**Where:** 16 Batumi St, Chakvi. **Capacity:** a resort over 130,000 m2 with four outdoor pools, an aqua park and event spaces. **Watch out:** it rates 4.2 on Google, below the 4.3 bar we use for a recommendation, and you will have to ask [the resort](https://dreamland.ge/) directly for a hall capacity and a price before you can size or budget an event.

It is on this list because couples ask about it, not because we would send you there first.

### Batumi Botanical Garden

**Where:** Green Cape, 10 km and 15 minutes north of Batumi. **Open:** daily 09:00 to 20:00. **Good for:** the ceremony and the photographs, with the reception back in town.

Founded in 1912 on the cape above the sea, with a rose and camellia collection at its best in May and its own ritual podium for ceremonies. It is a backdrop, not a venue: there is no banquet hall, so plan the dinner elsewhere and budget the transfer. Ring [+995 422 27 00 33](tel:+995422270033) for the ceremony slot and the current fee, which the [garden](http://bbg.ge/) sets separately from the entrance ticket.

## The mountains: Keda and Khulo

The mountains are where you go for a two- or three-day wedding with up to 30 guests who sleep on site, dry late-summer weather, and a price that already includes beds and meals. They are wrong for a 200-guest formal dinner, for an en-suite bathroom per guest, and for anyone who will not get into a 4x4.

### Glamping Tago: spaces, beds and season

**Where:** Village Tago, Khulo municipality, 1,200 m. **From Batumi:** about 92 km and about 2 hours. **Capacity:** made for weddings of about 30 guests and retreats of up to 30 people, seated for the ceremony and the dinner. **Beds:** 33 on site on the ridge, in twelve heated Lotus Belle tents for two and a nine-bed dorm dome, so a 30-guest wedding sleeps where it celebrates. **Price from:** whole-camp buyout 3,258 GEL a night in April to 6,035 in July and August, privatisation and the event tent included. **Season:** camp open 1 April to the end of October, weddings May to mid-October. **Good for:** a Friday-to-Sunday wedding weekend where nobody drives home. **Watch out:** the last 9 km from Khulo is a mountain road that takes 4x4 cars and 15-seat minibuses only.

This is us. You book the whole camp, one wedding at a time, for two nights or more: twelve Lotus Belle tents and a nine-bed dormitory dome, the 150 m2 event tent on its wooden deck whose sides close for rain, the yurt restaurant that seats 36 inside and 20 out, both yoga spaces, the sauna every evening and the fire circle. Three ceremony spots: the forest clearing, the valley overlook and the highland Otsinari lake about 30 minutes away. Wooden benches seat the whole group on the meadow.

The kitchen is fully vegetarian, with a BBQ live station and meat khinkali as add-ons. Music runs outside until midnight, then the party moves into the warm yurt. The full spec, every price and the site map are on our [wedding organizer guide](https://glampingtago.ge/weddings/organizer-info). [The weddings we have hosted here](https://glampingtago.ge/weddings) have been 17 to 38 guests, from an [intimate wedding of 17](https://wedding.glampingtago.ge/case-studies/wedding-asya-timur) to a [two-day wedding for 27 in July 2026](https://wedding.glampingtago.ge/case-studies/wedding-victoria-lev). In our Google reviews, guests mention the view most often, then the staff, the food and how romantic the place is.

### Eco House Merisi

**Where:** village Silibauri, Merisi, Keda district, 803 m. **From Batumi:** 53.6 km and about 1 hour 10 minutes. **Capacity:** restaurant hall for up to 50 and ceremonies and dinners up to 60, plus two panoramic terraces, a 50 m2 open-air ceremony platform at the cliff edge and a 100 m2 covered backup. **Beds:** 54 in 12 cottages and 3 villas of 2 to 10 guests each. **Season:** all year. **Good for:** a 20 to 50 guest cliff-edge wedding in glass cottages with a proper indoor rain plan. **Watch out:** there is no shop within reach, so bring what you need, and the hotel restaurant is the only place to eat nearby and closes early in the evening, so put the dinner timings in the contract.

Their [wedding page](https://ecohousemerisi.com/wedding-in-georgia/) offers four formats: an intimate wedding, ceremony plus banquet, a wedding weekend with a pre-wedding dinner and next-morning breakfast, and a full hotel buyout. Every wedding is priced individually. A dedicated wedding coordinator, décor and florist selection, catering, vendor sourcing and guest transfers are in-house, and couples may bring their own team. At 4.9 from more than 1,500 Google reviews this is the highest-rated venue in this guide after our own, and the strongest mountain alternative in Adjara.

It is not on the road to Khulo. Merisi is up its own side valley, and going through it adds 23.3 km and 37 minutes to a drive to Tago.

### Chateau Iveri

**Where:** Varjanisi, Keda, 295 m. **From Batumi:** 51.3 km and about 1 hour. **Capacity:** 6 rooms and 12 beds plus a conference hall, so a small wedding. **Price from:** 100-200 GEL a night for a room, per the [official Adjara tourism listing](https://visitajara.com/en/hotels/28). **Good for:** a 15 to 30 guest wedding on a vineyard terrace over the gorge. **Watch out:** the website is in Georgian only, and with 12 beds most of a bigger guest list sleeps elsewhere.

The one mountain venue genuinely on the Batumi-Khulo road: going via Chateau Iveri adds 0.9 km and 5 minutes to the drive. Their [own site](https://chateauiveri.ge/) has a weddings and events section and the wine comes from their own production. Its Google reviews from the last 12 months average 4.8, and guests single out the view, the food and the family who run it.

### Hotel Ambassadori Goderdzi

**Where:** the Goderdzi ski resort, 1,699 m, on the Batumi-Akhaltsikhe road. **From Batumi:** 111.1 km, which is 34 km past the turn-off to Tago. **Capacity:** two conference rooms with projectors and screens; weddings are quoted per event. **Season:** all year, which is the point. **Good for:** the one highland base in Adjara that takes a group in winter as well as summer. **Watch out:** it is a resort hotel you share with other guests, 34 km beyond the turn-off to Tago, and weddings have no published price, so ask for a written quote.

### Chateau Milisi

**Where:** village Milisi, Keda, 559 m, 37.2 km from Batumi. **Rooms:** 30 to 120 USD a night on [their own site](https://chateaumilisi.ge/services/). **Watch out:** its Google reviews from the last 12 months average 3.5. Several 2026 reviews criticise the food, and others describe smoky, dirty rooms.

For a wedding, where the catering is the whole point, that is disqualifying, and we list it with a warning rather than a recommendation. It is also up its own side valley: going via Milisi adds 12.8 km to the Khulo drive.

> **Chateau Milisi** (Milisi, Keda (Adjara))
> Named because couples ask about it, not recommended: its Google reviews from the last 12 months average 3.5, with repeated complaints about the food and the rooms. It also sits up its own side valley, 12.8 km off the Khulo road.

## How far is each venue, and what is really on the way?

Batumi to our camp in Tago is about 92 km and about 2 hours: 85 km of asphalt on the Sh1 Batumi-Akhaltsikhe road as far as Khulo, then a mountain road of 9 km that takes 30 to 35 minutes. Everything else in Adjara is measured off that line, and most of the places people want to bolt onto the drive are not on it.

| From Batumi to | Distance | Drive | On the Khulo road? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Batumi airport | 6.7 km | 10-20 min | no, it is south of the city |
| ORTA Batumi | 9.7 km | 15 min | no, +13.9 km detour |
| Batumi Botanical Garden | 10 km | 15 min | no, it is north up the coast |
| Castello Mare, Tsikhisdziri | 20.4 km | 30 min | no, north up the coast |
| Adjarian Wine House | 21 km | 33 min | yes, +0.2 km |
| Georgia Palace, Kobuleti | 30.7 km | 40 min | no, north up the coast |
| Makhuntseti waterfall | 33.7 km | 46 min | yes, +3.9 km |
| Chateau Milisi, Keda | 37.2 km | 54 min | no, +12.8 km detour |
| Chateau Iveri, Keda | 51.3 km | 1 h | yes, +0.9 km |
| Eco House Merisi, Keda | 53.6 km | 1 h 10 | no, +23.3 km detour |
| Khulo | 86 km | 2 h to 2 h 30 | yes, it is the road |
| Glamping Tago | about 92 km | about 2 h | the destination |
| Ambassadori Goderdzi | 111.1 km | 2 h 5 | no, 34 km past the Tago turn-off |

Three places are genuinely on the way and work as a stop for a convoy of guests. **Makhuntseti waterfall and Queen Tamar's arched stone bridge** stand within 100 m of each other 33.7 km from Batumi and cost 10 minutes of detour, which makes them the one real photo stop between the airport and the mountains. **Chateau Iveri** costs 5 minutes. The **Adjarian Wine House** is barely a detour at all at 0.2 km, though at 4.1 from over 1,300 Google reviews we name it as the stop people ask about rather than one we recommend, and certainly not as a venue.

> **Makhuntseti Waterfall and Queen Tamar's bridge** (Makhuntseti, Keda (Adjara))
> The one real photo stop between Batumi and the mountains: 33.4 km out, genuinely on the Khulo road at 4 km and 10 minutes of detour. The waterfall and the arched stone bridge stand within 100 m of each other.

> phone +995 577 22 52 89 · [map](https://www.google.com/maps/place/?q=place_id:ChIJnes6mtSKZ0ARA9LWDm0PrWo)

> **Adjarian Wine House** (Acharistskali, Khelvachauri (Adjara))
> Right on the Batumi-Keda road, 0.2 km of detour, so it works as a stop on the drive rather than as a venue. At 4.1 it sits below our bar.
> Season: All year, 10:00-22:00 · Google 4.1 (1313)
> Pros: Right on the Batumi to Keda road, 0.2 km of detour; A wine stop on the drive up
> Cons: 4.1, below our 4.3 bar; Better as a stop on the drive than as a venue

Everything else is a separate trip. Merisi, Milisi and ORTA each sit up their own valley, and Goderdzi is 34 km beyond the point where you would turn off for Tago, a detour of 53 km. Putting two of them in one day with 40 guests in convoy is how a wedding weekend turns into a coach tour.

> **Tip:** add 30 minutes to every mountain drive time in the table above. Those are road times for an empty road. The real Khulo road has potholes, livestock, roadworks and, in summer, a great many other cars.

## How do you actually get your guests to a mountain venue?

You move them in 4x4 cars and 15-seat minibuses, and you budget it as a real line in the wedding, because it is one. Big coaches cannot reach a village above Khulo, and normal cars cannot do the last stretch at all.

- **Our transfers, per car, one way:** Batumi to Tago 265 GEL by 4x4 (4 seats) or 410 GEL by 15-seat minibus; Khulo to Tago 75 GEL or 135 GEL; Kutaisi to Tago 465 GEL; Tbilisi to Tago 925 GEL; Akhaltsikhe to Tago 360 GEL. A vendor car from Batumi and back is 530 GEL. Multiple pickups add 20 GEL, and a picnic stop at the waterfall adds 50 GEL. Transfers are paid in cash at our reception, never to the driver. Khulo, about 6 km before the camp, has fuel, an Aversi pharmacy and a Credo Bank ATM, so that is where to fill up and take out cash.
- **The coach trick:** hire your own coach from Batumi as far as Khulo, where the road is asphalt the whole way, and switch everyone into our minibuses for the last stretch. It is the cheapest way up for a full group, and it is how the guests of our [July 2026 wedding](https://wedding.glampingtago.ge/case-studies/wedding-victoria-lev) came up: one bus to Khulo, two of our minibuses from there.
- **Marshrutka, for guests coming independently:** the Batumi to Khulo minibus leaves the old bus station every 30 minutes from 08:00 to 20:00, takes about 2 h 30 and costs about 10 GEL. The window sign reads ბათუმი - ხულო. The [route register](https://marshrutka.info/line/5e4642fd-88ff-413e-bd9b-6f0a7b5147f8) gives 82 km and 8 GEL; our own [route guide](https://glampingtago.ge/how-to-get-to-glamping-tago) gives about 10 GEL. The station is old and unsignposted and rates 2.9 on Google, so it is not where you send your grandmother on the morning of the wedding.
- **Taxi:** a one-way Batumi to Khulo ride runs up to 175 GEL on Bolt, Yandex Taxi or Maxim, and takes about 2 hours. It will not take you past Khulo, and drivers booked to Khulo often ask more than the app price because they have no return passenger.
- **From Kutaisi airport:** bus to Batumi 2 hours and 25 GEL, or the train 2 hours and 31 GEL, four times a day each. Batumi airport is 6.7 km from the boulevard and 87.1 km from Tago.

> **Watch out:** the Khulo-Tago cable car does not run. This is the single question we are asked most, in all three languages. The [official Adjara tourism listing](https://visitajara.com/en/sights/225) marks it under construction while still showing a 5 GEL fare and 09:00 to 18:00 hours, which is what misleads people. There is no reopening date. We send a car to meet guests in Khulo instead.

> **Tip:** do not type Tago into Google Maps and drive. Chao is a different village 1.6 km away in a straight line but 13 km and about 20 minutes by road, and Google routes people there. Use Maps.me, or follow the directions on our [how to get here page](https://glampingtago.ge/how-to-get-to-glamping-tago). Without a 4x4, park in Khulo centre and take our taxi for 75 GEL a car.

> **Good to know:** there is a second, easier way in. Turn off the Batumi-Akhaltsikhe road at Zamleti, 4.7 km before Khulo, and follow the Skhalta valley up through Cheri and Dzmagula: 94 km in total and about 2 hours, a little longer but on a gentler road that suits normal cars and minibuses.

Three more things couples forget. Vendors need transport too, and most photographers, DJs, hosts and stylists charge the ride on top of their fee; a cameraman who leaves after the first dance needs his own car back. Guests who plan to drive themselves back to Batumi at 02:00 should not. And the transfer plan is built a few days before the wedding around real flight and train times, not months in advance.

## Where can you legally hold the ceremony, and what does the registrar charge?

Registering the marriage itself is free. What you pay for is the ceremony, and the [state ordinance](https://matsne.gov.ge/ka/document/view/5524359/0) sets one national tariff for the whole country: nothing for a plain registration at a House of Justice, 75 GEL for a ceremonial registration at a House of Justice branch or community centre, and 255 GEL for a registration held outside the building at a place you choose, which is what an on-site wedding ceremony is.

| What you want | 2026 fee |
|---|---|
| Marriage registered, no ceremony | free |
| Ceremonial registration at a House of Justice branch | 75 GEL |
| Registrar comes to your venue | 255 GEL |
| Apostille, 8 working days / 4 / 2 / same day | 30 / 60 / 120 / 150 GEL |
| Document translation, per page | 30 GEL |

The [Public Service Development Agency](https://sda.gov.ge/en/products/marriage-registration/) states the free-registration rule in English and in Georgian, and publishes the [apostille and translation tariffs](https://sda.gov.ge/en/products/apostille-and-legalization/) above. Guides still list a government fee of 50 to 100 for the registration itself, the Russian-language market guide [Eventive](https://eventive.ge/ru/skolko-stoit-svadba-v-gruzii/) among them. There is no such fee.

Both partners must be 18 or over, must attend in person (registration through a representative is not permitted), and need two legally capable adult witnesses present at the registration. A foreign citizen also submits a document proving their stay in Georgia on legal grounds. A foreign passport is accepted without a Georgian translation when it carries a Latin transliteration of the holder's data; any other foreign document must be apostilled or legalised and come with a notarised Georgian translation, which is what a previous divorce certificate needs. Citizens of 98 countries need no visa at all. Our full walkthrough is in [How to get married in Georgia as a foreigner](/blog/how-to-get-married-in-georgia-as-a-foreigner). Done yourselves, the legal part costs about 200 to 400 GEL in total.

> **Watch out:** Batumi no longer has a Wedding House. The dolphin-shaped hall at the central entrance to the boulevard was [demolished from 25 February 2026](https://boulevard.gov.ge/en/news/batumis-bulvarshi-qortsinebis-sakhlis-demontaji-daitsko/474), a [181,000 GEL fountain](https://batumelebi.netgazeti.ge/news/611731/) is going up on the site, and on 10 July 2026 the [Ministry of Justice](https://justice.gov.ge/index.php?m=articles&id=L12aG1mqnv&lang=2) reviewed the site and the design of a new marriage house on the New Boulevard, with no opening date announced. This matters to your date, not just your photographs: the 135 GEL weekday and 225 GEL weekend rates in the national ordinance apply only to a Wedding House, so with Batumi's gone there is no weekend ceremonial tariff in the city at all. A weekend ceremony in Batumi now means the registrar comes to you for 255 GEL.

> **Good to know:** book the slot, then the flights. A House of Justice branch works by advance booking, and the date, time and place go into the application and are hard to change afterwards. Half the fee is paid within an hour of the booking being confirmed and the rest when the application is registered. A booked outdoor slot is not moved because of rain.

> **Batumi's Public Service Hall** (7 Sherif Khimshiashvili St, Batumi (Adjara))
> Batumi N1 on the national register of Houses of Justice, opposite Ardagani lake. Registering a marriage here is free; a ceremonial registration is 75 GEL, and 255 GEL if the registrar travels to your venue. Slots are booked in advance.

Batumi has two branches, N1 at 7 Khimshiashvili St opposite Ardagani lake and N2 at 3 Odyssey Dimitriadis St, both on the [official register](https://www.napr.gov.ge/en/page/service-centers/houses-of-justice). You do not have to use them. That same register lists a branch in Keda at 19a Tbel Abuseridze St for a wedding at Merisi or Chateau Iveri, one in Kobuleti at 131 Shota Rustaveli St, and one in Khulo at 5b Queen Tamar St, in the municipality building 9 km from our camp, so a mountain couple never drives back to the coast for the paperwork. A marriage can be registered at Tago itself: the couple applies at a House of Justice and the registrar comes up the mountain, as at the [intimate wedding of 17](https://wedding.glampingtago.ge/case-studies/wedding-asya-timur) we hosted.

> **Khulo Municipality City Hall** (N5b Queen Tamar St, Khulo (Adjara))
> The Khulo Public Service Hall branch listed on the national register at 5b Queen Tamar St sits in this municipality building, 9 km by road from Village Tago. It is where a couple marrying in the mountains files the application instead of driving back to Batumi.

An off-site ceremony has a lead time that almost no blog mentions: the couple must be in the country at least 3 days beforehand, or two weeks if it is arranged without them, and [demand runs highest April to October](https://vow.legal/knowledgebase/marriage-registration-day-georgia-what-expect-how-prepare), when processing takes longer.

## Do your guests need insurance to fly in?

Yes, every one of them, including infants. Since 1 January 2026, [Decree No. 602](https://georgiatoday.ge/nine-months-into-mandatory-tourist-insurance-visitors-are-still-getting-the-same-four-things-wrong/) requires every foreign visitor entering Georgia to hold health and accident insurance of at least 30,000 GEL, valid for every day of the stay, documented in English or Georgian. Border officers check it on arrival and entry can be refused without it.

One policy per person: a family of four needs four policies, each in the traveller's own name against their own passport, and a child cannot travel on a parent's certificate. A compliant policy costs [3.50 USD or 3.00 EUR per person per day](https://cover.ge/en), so a party of 60 staying four days is around 840 USD of guests' own money. Put it in the invitation with the 30,000 GEL figure spelled out, not in a group chat two days before, and tell people to buy it a few hours before they fly: policies do not cover events in the first six hours.

## What each side costs

A coast wedding package for 30 to 50 guests starts at about 5,000 USD; a two-night mountain weekend for 30 guests at Glamping Tago, with everyone sleeping on site and every meal for everyone, lands around 27,300 GEL at our own 2026 prices. The two numbers buy very different things, and the per-guest rates below are what the market charges on each side.

### 2026 prices

| Line | Coast, Batumi area | Mountains, Keda and Khulo |
|---|---|---|
| Ceremony registration | 75 GEL at a House of Justice, 255 GEL at your venue | the same national tariff |
| Venue | quoted per event by every hotel; 350-5,000 USD rental is the market band | whole-camp buyout 3,258-6,035 GEL a night at Glamping Tago; priced individually at Eco House Merisi |
| Dinner per guest | from 80 GEL at ORTA; up to about 60 GEL a head at a city banquet hall; 100-150 mid, 150-250+ premium in the local market | 85 GEL supra, 125 buffet, 215 signature menu at Glamping Tago |
| Accommodation | hotel rates on top, 150-500 GEL a night at Castello Mare | included in the buyout: 33 beds on the ridge |
| Guest transport | city taxis, short transfers | 410 GEL per 15-seat minibus each way from Batumi |
| Host, DJ and sound | 400-1,200 GEL DJ, 500-1,500+ host in the local market | 5,000 GEL and up for host, DJ and sound as one team, transport included |
| Photography | 850 GEL for 4-5 hours, 1,300 for a full day locally; 50-105 USD an hour across 29 listed Batumi photographers | the same people, plus their ride up |
| Planning | 10-15% of budget, or 500-800 USD for day-of coordination | free if you or your planner book the vendors from our vendor guide; our partner planner Iremi Wedding usually 10-15%; our full coordination a fixed 2,000 GEL |

Two honest benchmarks from outside our own price list. [Be Loved Weddings](https://belovedwedd.com/en/wedding-in-adjara-a-perfect-day-by-the-black-sea/) puts a wedding on the Adjara coast at from 1,500 USD for up to 10 people, from 5,000 USD for 30-50 guests and from 10,000 USD for 100 or more, covering venue, decor, host, photographer, videographer, music, menu and transport. Eventive puts a 50-100 guest wedding anywhere in Georgia at 10,000 to 25,000 USD, and adds a 15-25% surcharge for a mountain location, which is a fair description of what the transfers above actually cost. Both name May to June and September to October as the expensive months, with venues going 6 to 8 months ahead.

Photography prices are local and public: [650 Studio](https://650studio.ge/wedding-photo-batumi/) in Batumi charges 850 GEL for a 4-5 hour standard package with up to 1,500 frames and 1,300 GEL for the full day, and the 29 Batumi wedding photographers listed on [MyWed](https://mywed.com/en/Georgia/Batumi-wedding-photographers/) quote 50 to 105 USD an hour, falling with the length of the booking.

Here is the mountain side worked all the way through, for 30 guests over two nights in September at our own 2026 prices:

| Line | 2026 price |
|---|---|
| Whole-camp buyout, 2 nights in September (privatisation and event tent included) | 10,082 GEL |

That is two nights, four meals and a bed on the ridge for everyone, before drinks, photography and video. It sits inside our own published guide figure of 5,000 to 15,000 USD for a 30-guest wedding including dinner, breakfast and accommodation, depending on the season and the decor.

> **Cost:** the season swing is real. The same camp is 6,035 GEL a night in July and August, 5,041 in June and September and 3,646 in October. Moving a wedding from August to September saves about 1,000 GEL a night, and to October about 2,400, while September buys you the more stable mountain weather at the same time.

## How far ahead do you book, and in what order?

High season books out 6 to 12 months ahead on both sides of the region, and the order matters more than the lead time, because three of these steps depend on each other.

1. **Date and venue together.** June to September needs 6 to 12 months; April, May and October are comfortable at 3. A 30% deposit confirms the date with us, is non-refundable, and counts as minimum spend.
2. **The registration slot.** Do this before you book flights for anyone, because an off-site ceremony needs you in Georgia 3 days beforehand and the date and place are hard to change once the application is in.
3. **Insurance for every guest.** Into the invitation, with the 30,000 GEL minimum spelled out.
4. **Transfers.** As soon as you know roughly how many guests and which airport. This is the line couples most often leave until last and most often get wrong.
5. **Vendors.** Photographer, host, DJ, decor. Budget each one's travel to the venue as well as their fee.
6. **The programme, timeline, vendor list and mood board, 30 days out.**
7. **Final food count and the rooming list, 7 days out.** Numbers can still move a little inside that window, which is why we ask for them late rather than early.

> **Good to know:** ask any coast venue to write the wet-weather plan into the contract, by name. Not "we have a marquee", but which room, at what capacity, decided by whom and by when. In September on this coast that clause is the most valuable line in the whole document.

## What do couples get wrong about an Adjara wedding?

- **No roof plan in September.** The month is beautiful and it delivers 262 mm of rain in short, violent bursts. Both sides of the region need a covered fallback that is booked.
- **Leaving the registration to the last week.** The slot is booked in advance, an off-site ceremony needs you in the country three days ahead, and Batumi lost the one building that held weekend ceremonies.
- **Guests in normal cars.** The last stretch to a village above Khulo takes 4x4s and 15-seat minibuses. A hired sedan will not make it, and a 50-seat coach will not either.
- **Vendors' transport unbudgeted.** A photographer, a DJ, a host and a stylist each charging the ride to the mountains adds up to more than most couples expect, which is why pooling them into one car matters.
- **02:00 taxis back to Batumi.** A mountain wedding only works if everyone sleeps where they celebrate. If you are marrying on the coast at a venue outside town, plan the way 100 people get home before you book it.
- **Believing the cable car runs.** It does not.
- **Trusting the drive time on the map.** Add 30 minutes.

## The best of both: a split weekend

Many of our couples do both sides, and the logistics work cleanly in one direction: coast first, mountains second. Guests land in Batumi and spend the first night on the coast, where the hotels and the airport are. The legal registration happens at a House of Justice branch on a weekday morning, or the registrar comes up to the venue instead. Then the convoy drives inland.

Batumi to Tago is about 92 km and about 2 hours, and the one stop that costs almost nothing is Makhuntseti: 3.9 km and 10 minutes of detour for a waterfall and a Queen Tamar bridge that most guests will photograph for longer than you plan. A picnic stop there on our transfer is 50 GEL. Then the wedding weekend happens up the hill, and after the Sunday brunch the cars go back down so the guests who want the sea get two days of beach at the end.

The day after the wedding has an obvious answer up here too. Green Lake sits at 2,067 m, 39.9 km from the camp, and makes a half-day jeep trip rather than the twelve-hour round trip it is from Batumi. Our full guide to it is at [Green Lake](/blog/green-lake).

> **Green Lake (Mtsvane Tba)** (Didi Riketi, Khulo municipality (Adjara))
> The obvious day after the wedding: about 2,060 m, 39.9 km from Tago, a half-day jeep trip from the mountains against a twelve-hour round trip from Batumi. No cafe, shop or toilet at the lake.

## So, coast or mountains?

- Choose the **coast** if your guest list is over 100, if every guest needs a hotel bathroom, if you are marrying in April or May when the hills are still cold and wet, or if a formal ballroom dinner is the picture you have in your head.
- Choose the **mountains** if your list is about 30 or fewer, if you are marrying between June and mid-October, if you want two or three days rather than one evening, and if nobody in the party objects to a 4x4 and a cold night.
- Choose **both** if your guests are flying a long way: the coast for arrival and recovery, the mountains for the wedding itself, the coast again for the beach at the end.
- Choose **September in the mountains over September on the coast** if you want one specific thing: the driest, most stable weather of the late season. It is the month where the two sides of Adjara differ most.

## A mountain wedding weekend at Glamping Tago

We are Jonas and Lisa, a Belgian couple who fell in love with Georgia and opened Glamping Tago in 2021. Glamping Tago is made for weddings of about 30 guests and retreats of up to 30 people; the whole place belongs to one group and everyone sleeps on site. We are on the ridge above Village Tago in Khulo municipality, at 1,200 m and about two hours from Batumi. You book the whole camp, one wedding at a time, for two nights or more, so the wedding is a weekend with your people rather than an evening in a room.

The ceremony happens in the forest clearing, at the valley overlook or at the highland Otsinari lake half an hour away, with wooden benches for the whole group on the meadow. Dinner is in the 150 m2 event tent on its wooden deck, whose sides close when the weather turns, and the party moves into the warm yurt at midnight. The kitchen is fully vegetarian, with a BBQ live station and meat khinkali as add-ons.

Plan it the way that suits you: venue only is free, and you or your own planner book the vendors from our vendor guide of vetted vendors for every service, mostly based in Batumi; our partner planner Iremi Wedding can plan it for their own fee; or we coordinate everything for a fixed 2,000 GEL. Every space, price and timeline is on the [wedding organizer guide](https://glampingtago.ge/weddings/organizer-info).

- **Guests:** About 30 for a wedding, up to 30 for a retreat
- **Beds:** 33 on site, so a 30-guest wedding all sleeps on the ridge
- **Event tent:** 150 m2 on a wooden deck, sides close for rain
- **Price from:** Whole-camp buyout 3,258 GEL a night in April, 6,035 in July and August, privatisation and event tent included
- **Food:** Mountain Supra 85 GEL a guest, Euro-Georgian buffet 125, signature menu 215
- **Drive from Batumi:** About 92 km, about 2 hours, last 9 km by 4x4 or 15-seat minibus
- **Transfer:** 265 GEL per 4x4 or 410 GEL per 15-seat minibus from Batumi, one way
- **Season:** Camp open 1 April to end of October; weddings May to mid-October

## FAQ

**Is a wedding in Batumi or in the Adjara mountains better?**

Batumi suits 100 guests or more who each want a hotel room and a ballroom with a built-in rain plan, with the airport 6.7 km away. The Adjara mountains suit about 30 guests over a whole weekend, with everyone sleeping on site and drier weather from June to mid-October. Many couples do both: the coast for arrival, the mountains for the wedding.

**What is the best month for a wedding in Adjara, Georgia?**

June for the coast, because it is the sunniest month of the year at 235 hours of sun, and the first three weeks of September for the mountains, where the clear season holds until about the 25th while the coast takes its heaviest rain. August has the clearest skies on both sides but is humid and expensive. April and May are dry on the coast and still cold at night in the hills.

**Is September a bad month for a wedding in Batumi?**

Not bad, but it needs a roof that is booked rather than promised. September brings 262 mm of rain to Batumi on about 11 wet days, barely more days than August but 57 mm more water, so the rain comes in short violent bursts. On 19 and 20 September 2026 the city took 275 mm in one storm, a 1-in-100-year event. In Khulo, September is one of the clearest months of the season.

**How much does a wedding in Batumi or Adjara cost in 2026?**

Be Loved Weddings puts a wedding on the Adjara coast at from 5,000 USD for 30 to 50 guests and from 10,000 USD for 100 or more, and Eventive puts a 50-100 guest wedding anywhere in Georgia at 10,000 to 25,000 USD. A two-night mountain wedding weekend for 30 guests at Glamping Tago, with everyone sleeping on site, four meals, decor, music, our coordination and the transfers, comes to about 27,300 GEL in September at our 2026 prices.

**How much does the registrar charge for a wedding ceremony in Batumi, and can they come to our venue?**

Registering the marriage is free. A ceremonial registration at a House of Justice branch or community centre is 75 GEL, and 255 GEL if the registrar comes to the place you choose. Yes, they come to your venue: that 255 GEL fee is exactly for a registration held outside the building. There is no separate government processing fee, whatever other guides say.

**Can we get married at the Batumi Wedding House?**

No. The dolphin-shaped wedding hall at the central entrance to Batumi Boulevard was demolished from 25 February 2026, a 181,000 GEL fountain is going up on the site, and the House of Justice is designing a replacement elsewhere on the new boulevard. Because the 135 GEL weekday and 225 GEL weekend rates in the national ordinance apply only to a Wedding House, Batumi now has no weekend ceremonial tariff at all: use a branch for 75 GEL, or bring the registrar to your venue for 255 GEL.

**Do wedding guests flying into Georgia need travel insurance in 2026?**

Yes. Since 1 January 2026, Decree No. 602 requires every foreign visitor to hold health and accident insurance of at least 30,000 GEL, valid for every day of the stay and documented in English or Georgian. Every person needs their own policy, including infants, and it costs 3.50 USD or 3.00 EUR a person a day. Border officers check it on arrival, so put it in the invitation.

**How far are the Adjara mountain venues from Batumi, and what is on the way?**

Chateau Iveri is 51.3 km and about an hour, Eco House Merisi 53.6 km and about 1 hour 10, and Glamping Tago about 92 km and about 2 hours. Only Makhuntseti waterfall (3.9 km of detour), Chateau Iveri (0.9 km) and the Adjarian Wine House (0.2 km) are genuinely on the Khulo road. Merisi, Milisi and ORTA each sit up their own side valley and are separate trips.

**How do wedding guests get up to a mountain venue above Khulo?**

In 4x4 cars and 15-seat minibuses; large coaches cannot reach the village and ordinary cars cannot do the last 9 km from Khulo. Our minibus is 410 GEL from Batumi and 135 GEL from Khulo, each way, per vehicle. The cheapest plan for a big group is your own coach as far as Khulo on the asphalt, then our minibuses for the last stretch. The Khulo cable car does not run.

**How far ahead should we book a wedding in Adjara?**

Six to twelve months for June to September on both sides of the region, and about three months for April, May and October. Book the venue and the date together, then the registration slot before anyone books flights, because an off-site ceremony needs you in the country three days beforehand and the date and place are hard to change once the application is filed.

**Can Glamping Tago host a wedding of more than 30 guests?**

Glamping Tago is made for weddings of about 30, and 33 guests sleep on site. For a bigger wedding, up to about 100 guests, the rest stay in seven family guesthouses in Tago village, 3 to 10 minutes' walk below, with 64 beds at 150 GEL a room a night, and the benches on the meadow seat 100. Above that, a coast venue fits better.
