# Company Offsite and Team Building Venues in Georgia (the Country), 2026: Tbilisi, Kakheti, Kazbegi and Adjara Compared

Source: https://glampingtago.ge/blog/company-offsite-team-building-venues-georgia · Updated 2026-10-11 · Glamping Tago

## TL;DR

- Two Georgian venues publish a whole-property price you can plan against: Glamping Tago in mountainous Adjara at 1,962 GEL a night for the camp in April and 4,488 in July and August, plus a 2,000 GEL event privatisation fee, and Horizons Bakurtsikhe in Kakheti from 2,715 GEL a night for six cottages.
- A three-day offsite for 20 people with the whole camp, all meals, a jeep day, a cooking workshop and return transfers from Batumi comes to about 24,400 GEL in June, roughly 1,220 GEL a head before flights.
- Match the airport to the region: Batumi for the Adjara mountains, 87.4 km and 2 hours to Khulo plus a 30 to 35 minute 4x4 leg; Tbilisi for Kakheti at 73 to 140 km, Kazbegi at 170 km and Borjomi at 176 km; Kutaisi only for the coast, because Kutaisi to Tbilisi is a 3.5 to 4 hour coach.
- September is the best month: every trail open, a warm coast and rtveli in Kakheti. Kakheti venues lock 3 to 4 months out for 40 people or more, Adjara camp dates in June to September go 6 to 12 months ahead, and the Adjara mountain camps close from November to March.
- Only ask for a mountain venue's tested internet speed in writing. Glamping Tago runs Starlink Wi-Fi tested at 300 Mbps with mobile backup; an ordinary Georgian mountain guesthouse runs 3 to 15 Mbps and drops to 1 to 3 when it is full.
- A foreign team working on its own products at a Georgian venue is exempt from the right-to-work rule that started on 1 March 2026, under Resolution 321 of 9 July 2026. A paid facilitator flown in for the event is not.

Two venues in Georgia the country publish a whole-property price for one team: Glamping Tago in the Adjara mountains from 1,962 GEL a night and Horizons Bakurtsikhe in Kakheti from 2,715. This guide compares every region and venue with beds, meeting space, tested Wi-Fi, activity prices and a worked 2026 budget for 20 people over three days.

## Why do teams come to Georgia (the country) for an offsite?

Because the budget that rents a hotel conference room in Europe rents a whole property here, and almost nobody on the team needs a visa. Georgia gives [one-year visa-free entry to citizens of 98 countries](https://promedea.ge/mice/), including the EU, the UK, the US, Canada and Australia, and US passport holders can stay [up to 365 days](https://www.trade.gov/country-commercial-guides/georgia-business-travel). Tbilisi, Kutaisi and Batumi all take direct low-cost flights from Europe.

This is Georgia the country in the South Caucasus, 69,700 km2 between the Black Sea and the main Caucasus range, with Tbilisi as its capital. It is not the US state, and every venue, price and drive time on this page is in the country.

The saving is the reason most finance directors sign it off. [Promedea](https://promedea.ge/mice/) puts a full Georgian programme at 30 to 40 per cent below EU prices and [Eventive](https://eventive.ge/en/corporate-retreats-in-georgia-why-the-caucasus-is-becoming-the-worlds-most-sought-after-offsite-destination/) at 40 to 60 per cent below Western Europe, both comparing venue, catering and logistics together. Georgia took [7.8 million international traveller visits in 2025](https://gnta.ge/en/research/) and USD 4.69 billion of travel income, so the hotel and ground-handling layer is used to foreign groups.

This guide is written by one of the venues on it, Glamping Tago in the Adjara mountains, so read our entry with that in mind. Every other venue's numbers are its own, and each one is linked.

> **Good to know:** The [Georgian Convention and Exhibition Bureau](https://www.gceb.ge/venues) is the state body that keeps the country's venue lists and takes requests for proposal on +995 32 243 69 99 and info@gceb.ge. It covers Tbilisi, Batumi, Kutaisi, Kakheti, Tsinandali, Sairme, Kazbegi, Shekvetili, Gudauri, Napareuli, Kobuleti, Borjomi, Mukhrani, Mtskheta and Tskaltubo. Mountainous Adjara is not on that list, which is why the region barely appears in agency proposals.

## Which venue fits your team?

Pick the venue by what the offsite has to do, not by the photos. If the whole place must be yours and everyone sleeps on site, the shortlist is two venues; if you need a 700-seat hall or 141 rooms, it is a hotel.

| Venue | Whole venue for your team? | Beds on site | Work space | Team size | From the airport |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| [Glamping Tago](#place-glamping-tago) (ours) | Yes, the whole camp, one team at a time | 33, plus 64 in the village | 38 m2 work dome, 138 m2 platform | 10-28 working | Batumi, 87 km |
| [Horizons Bakurtsikhe](#place-horizons-bakurtsikhe) | Yes, from four cottages, published price | Cottages | Meeting spaces | By enquiry | Tbilisi, 86 min |
| [Eco House Merisi](#place-eco-house-merisi) | Ask: a hotel | Glass cottages | Session space | By enquiry | Batumi, about 1 h 10 |
| [Rooms Kazbegi](#place-rooms-kazbegi) | No, a hotel | Hotel rooms | 300 m2 hall, three 60 m2 rooms | By enquiry | Tbilisi, 175 min |
| [Tsinandali Estate](#place-tsinandali-estate) | No, a hotel | 141 rooms | Theatre hall for 700 | 50-150 | Tbilisi, 104 min |
| [Sheraton Grand Tbilisi](#place-sheraton-grand-tbilisi) | No, a city hotel | Hotel rooms | Ballroom for 1,050 | Up to 1,050 | In the city |

## The regions at a glance: which region fits which kind of offsite?

Match the region to the format first and the photograph second. Five regions carry company groups, and they fail in different ways.

| Region | Airport and drive | Best for | Group size | Typical venue | Season |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Adjara mountains | Batumi, 87 km, 2 h plus a 30-35 min 4x4 leg | deep-work offsites, engineering and product teams, remote-first companies | 10-28 on site, up to 120 with the village | private glamping camp, whole property | 1 April to end of October |
| Kakheti | Tbilisi, 73-140 km, 1-2.5 h | wine, award dinners, merging two teams, large groups who all want a hotel room | 10-250 | lake resort, wine estate, cottage village | all year, rtveli in September |
| Kazbegi and Gudauri | Tbilisi, 135-170 km, 2.5-3.5 h | leadership strategy sessions with Kazbek in the window | 10-180 | design hotel, ski lodge | all year, ski from late December |
| Tbilisi | in the city, 17 km from the airport | conferences, launches, award evenings, the business half of a trip | 20-1,050 | five-star ballroom | all year |
| Black Sea coast | Batumi, 11-56 km, 20-70 min | incentive trips, summer parties, plenaries up to 8,000 | 50-8,000 | resort hotel, arena | all year, beach June to September |

Two planning rules come out of this table. [Meetsy](https://meetsygeorgia.ge/en/blog/top-5-locations-for-corporate-events-in-georgia), which runs groups of 20 to 1,200 in Georgia, sets its working minimum at three nights in one region plus day trips: Tbilisi, the mountains and Kakheti in three nights only work on paper. And the further you go from an airport, the more the day costs you: a Kutaisi ticket is usually the cheapest, but Kutaisi to Tbilisi is [253 km by road and a 3.5 to 4 hour coach at 30 GEL](https://thegeorgianguide.com/practical-info/kutaisi-airport-transfers/), so a Tbilisi programme pays for the cheap flight in road time.

## Where can a company rent the whole venue for itself?

Two venues publish a whole-property price you can plan a budget against, one in the Adjara mountains and one in Kakheti, and they are the fastest way to get exclusivity without an agency. Everywhere else a buyout is a negotiation: the big resorts and the Tbilisi hotels quote per room plus hall hire, and exclusivity is something you ask a sales office to price.

| Venue | What the whole property means | 2026 price | Group size |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Glamping Tago, Adjara | all 12 tents, the 9-bed dorm, both work spaces, sauna, campfire, sound kit | 1,962 GEL a night in April to 4,488 in July and August, plus a 2,000 GEL event privatisation fee | 10-28 working, 33 beds |
| [Horizons Bakurtsikhe](https://gohorizons.ge/corporate), Kakheti | four cottages is the minimum that makes the property exclusive | from 2,715 GEL a night for six cottages, VAT included, 10 per cent off two nights | cottage village, breakfast included |

> **Tip:** For a leadership team of 10 to 15 rather than a whole company, two smaller places take a group on their own terms: [Lost Ridge Inn](https://lostridgeinn.com/) outside Sighnaghi, with its own brewery and ranch horses, and [Anapea village](https://anapea.ge/corporate-offers/) near Kvareli, a museum-style estate in 25 hectares of organic vineyards. Both are in the Kakheti section below.

## Why the Adjara mountains for a deep-work offsite of 10 to 28?

Adjara is the south-western region around Batumi, and its mountains start two hours inland. Above the town of Khulo, Glamping Tago takes one team at a time, which is the part a hotel cannot copy: nobody else is at breakfast, and the work spaces are not shared with a wedding.

**The work spaces.** An indoor geodesic dome of 38 m2 seats about 20 and is the dedicated work room, climate controlled, with ergonomic chairs, desks and an espresso machine. Outside it, a 138 m2 platform under a sailcloth tent takes the whole group for a plenary or a workshop. Speaker, microphone, whiteboards, post-its and markers are on site and free for a group to use, and coffee and snacks are refreshed every two hours. There is a projector and screen too, but they give a usable picture only after dark, so daytime sessions run on whiteboards and laptops and anything for the big screen goes in the evening slot. There is no massage table and no gong.

**The internet.** [Starlink](https://www.starlink.com/) satellite Wi-Fi tested at 300 Mbps, with mobile as backup. That is the number to compare, because Wi-Fi in an ordinary Georgian mountain guesthouse runs [3 to 15 Mbps and drops to 1 to 3 when the house is full](https://www.triplinkhub.com/en/blog/mobile-internet-georgia-mountains-svaneti-kazbegi). Remote teams from Berlin, Lisbon and Amsterdam have run normal video-call days from the ridge.

**The beds.** Twelve Lotus Belle tents with a wood stove, electricity and Wi-Fi, two people per tent, plus a nine-bed dorm dome: 33 beds on the hill. There is no bathroom inside a tent; two shared blocks give four showers and four toilets in total, with hot water, towels and bedding. Seven families in the village three to ten minutes below run [guesthouses with 64 more beds in 27 rooms](https://glampingtago.ge/local-guesthouses/) at 150 GEL a room, and about 60 camping spots on top, which is how the camp hosted a 100-person team building in June 2026 and a group of 120.

**The connection layer.** The wood-fired sauna is lit [every evening from 20:00 to 22:00](https://glampingtago.ge/glamping) and is free for staying guests, including groups on retreats, with a cold plunge next to it, the campfire is laid every clear night, and sunrise yoga in the dome or on the platform is included every day. Beyond the gate: five marked walks from the camp, jeep days to [Green Lake](/blog/green-lake), the Shuamta lakes at 2,150 m, Khikhani fortress at 2,200 m and the Goderdzi pass, plus canyoning at Uchkho and a jara honey table with a sixth-generation beekeeper.

**The limits, plainly.** The last stretch from Khulo needs a 4x4, so cars park in Khulo and take the 75 GEL jeep taxi up, while minibuses can reach the camp by the Skhalta valley road (the Zamleti-Cheri road). The kitchen is fully vegetarian. The camp is shut from November to March. A 200-person conference does not fit, and neither does anyone who needs an en-suite bathroom.

### Eco House Merisi, upper Keda

The other mountain option in Adjara, and a very different one. [Glass-fronted cottages with private jacuzzis](https://ecohousemerisi.com/) sit at 804 m above the Merisi valley, [49.1 km and 70 minutes](https://www.openstreetmap.org/directions?engine=fossgis_osrm_car&route=41.6102%2C41.5997%3B41.5803%2C42.0168) from Batumi airport up its own road from Keda. It is a hotel rather than a conference venue: 4.9 from 1,553 Google reviews, with the view, the power and the Wi-Fi praised again and again, and opinions on the restaurant divided. Ask for the session space and its size in writing before you book a group, and bring what you need, because the village has no shop.

It is not a stop on the way anywhere. Taking Merisi as a via point on the Batumi airport to Tago drive [turns 87.4 km into 110.7 km](https://www.openstreetmap.org/directions?engine=fossgis_osrm_car&route=41.6102%2C41.5997%3B41.5803%2C42.0168%3B41.6221%2C42.3125) and adds 38 minutes, because it sits in a separate side valley. Treat it as its own destination.

## Why take a team to Kakheti? Wine estates and lake resorts

Kakheti is where Georgian companies take their own teams, and it is the easiest region to plan: one to two and a half hours east of Tbilisi airport on good roads, with everything from a 39-room estate to a 311-room resort. Its weakness is that wine tends to become the programme, so a team that needs three working days should book the sessions before the tastings.

September and early October are rtveli, the grape harvest, which [normally falls in the second half of September and runs into mid-October](https://meetsygeorgia.ge/en/blog/top-5-locations-for-corporate-events-in-georgia). The [National Wine Agency](https://wine.gov.ge/En/News/39391) runs a harvest coordination centre around the clock through the season and the state sets floor prices per kilogram, so the wineries are working rather than performing. During rtveli a group cuts bunches and carries crates instead of only tasting, then sits down in the evening with the same people, which is the single best team activity the region has. Book early: [Meetsy](https://meetsygeorgia.ge/en/blog/top-5-locations-for-corporate-events-in-georgia) locks Kakheti venues three to four months out for 40 people or more in September.

### Anapea village, near Kvareli

Where: Thilisis Tskaro near Kvareli, [130.9 km and 125 minutes](https://www.openstreetmap.org/directions?engine=fossgis_osrm_car&route=41.6692%2C44.9547%3B41.8644%2C46.0124) from Tbilisi airport. Good for: a leadership group of 10 to 20 that wants open-air terraces and a historic marani for sessions, farm-to-table team dinners and qvevri tastings in 25 hectares of organic vineyards. Watch out for: it is an estate hotel with 64 Google reviews rather than a conference venue, so confirm room count and session space for your headcount. Contact info@anapea.ge or +995 577 21 23 23.

Good for: 150 to 250 people who all want a hotel room, a pool and a spa. Watch out for: recent guests report restaurants and facilities closing when one event takes the resort over, and activities are paid by card only.

Mukhrani is also not on the way to Kakheti, whatever the map suggests. Tbilisi airport to Tsinandali via Chateau Mukhrani is [204 km and 205 minutes instead of 92.9 km and 104](https://www.openstreetmap.org/directions?engine=fossgis_osrm_car&route=41.6692%2C44.9547%3B41.942%2C44.5814%3B41.8943%2C45.5645), because the chateau sits north-west of Tbilisi. It is an evening out of the city, not a stop on the drive east.

## When do Kazbegi and Gudauri suit a strategy session?

This is the format for a leadership team of 10 to 30 that wants one room, one table and a 5,000 m mountain out of the window. Both bases sit on the Georgian Military Highway north of Tbilisi, and the road is open all year, with snow on the high trails from October.

Two limits decide whether it works. Gudauri sits at about 2,000 m, and part of any group feels the altitude on the first night, so the heavy session belongs on day two. And the Gudauri to Kobi section closes in heavy snow and avalanche risk, which is a real risk for a fixed-date programme in January and February.

### Rooms Kazbegi, Stepantsminda

Capacity: a [Grand Conference Hall of 300 m2 plus three identical 60 m2 meeting halls](https://roomshotels.com/hotel/kazbegi/) with conference equipment on site, 480 m2 in total, which is one plenary and three breakouts without leaving the building. Good for: the executive offsite of the country, with Kazbek in the window and an outdoor programme at the door. Watch out for: reviewers rate the view and the concept far above the room standard for the price, staffing is thin when the hotel is full, and the restaurant divides opinion. Ask for a mountain-view room in writing.

Good for: the cheapest large mountain venue in summer, when the ski crowd has gone. Watch out for: you share the hotel with other guests, its 4.3 on Google is the lowest of the mountain hotels here, suite bedrooms come without blackout curtains, and Gudauri village itself is quiet and unremarkable outside the ski season.

A Gudauri night costs a Kazbegi programme almost nothing in driving. Tbilisi airport to Rooms Kazbegi via Gudauri Lodge is [170.3 km and 178 minutes against 169.9 km and 175 direct](https://www.openstreetmap.org/directions?engine=fossgis_osrm_car&route=41.6692%2C44.9547%3B42.4649%2C44.4839%3B42.659%2C44.6509), so the two work as one trip. If you want the ski season as the hook, the [Gudauri lifts](https://mta.ski/en/presscenter/SkiSeason2026_ENG) opened on 27 December last season and run daily from 10:00 to 17:00, and [Meetsy](https://meetsygeorgia.ge/en/blog/top-5-locations-for-corporate-events-in-georgia) gives the same opening date. Its own warning is worth repeating: a ski offsite splits the team into those who ski and everyone else, so run a second track and bring the group back together after lunch. In Adjara, the Goderdzi lifts open the same day and run 10:00 to 16:00 on weekdays and 10:00 to 17:00 at weekends.

### Crowne Plaza Borjomi, the all-year branded alternative

## When is Tbilisi the right choice? The conference floor

Tbilisi is where a conference, a launch or an award evening goes, and nowhere else in the country has this much hall. The city airport handled [over 4.75 million passengers in 2024](https://airports.ge/about-us/airports/tbilisi), 25 per cent above 2019, and sits 17 km south-east of the centre. What Tbilisi is not is an offsite: nobody comes back from a ballroom different.

Bedroom counts matter when you are holding a block: [236](https://www.cvent.com/venues/tbilisi/hotel/radisson-blu-iveria-hotel-tbilisi/venue-e433a207-23bc-4828-b4f6-cccec850778d) at the Radisson Blu Iveria, [215](https://pullmantbilisi.com/conference-venue-tbilisi/) at the Pullman and [214](https://www.conferencehotelgroup.com/hotels/8043/The-Biltmore-Hotel-Tbilisi-) at the Biltmore, which is the difference between one hotel and two for a group of 200.

The Sheraton Grand has the only ballroom in the country that seats a four-figure plenary under one roof. The Pullman is the newest floor and the only one that splits a big room into three equal working rooms on the same level, which is what a multi-track day needs. The Radisson Blu Iveria includes [projector, screen, flip chart, podium, portable stage and wired and wireless internet](https://silkhospitality.com/radisson-blu-tbilisi/meetings-events/meeting-spaces/) in the room, and charges extra for an AV technician, a microphone, translation and video conferencing, so ask which side of that line your programme falls on before you compare quotes: tbilisi.ots@radissonblu.com.

Delegate catering is published, which makes a Tbilisi day easy to model. [Tbilisi Marriott](https://www.marriott.com/en-us/hotels/tbsmc-tbilisi-marriott-hotel/events/) prints a coffee break at USD 12, lunch at USD 45 and a reception at USD 45 per person; [Sheraton Grand](https://www.marriott.com/en-us/hotels/tbssi-sheraton-grand-tbilisi-metechi-palace/events/) prints an afternoon break at USD 12, a coffee break at USD 40, lunch at USD 35 and dinner at USD 60. ## When does the Black Sea coast fit? Incentive trips and the two-base week

Batumi is the incentive and summer-party answer, and it is the easiest arrival in the country: the airport is 2 km from the city and [10.9 km and 20 minutes](https://www.openstreetmap.org/directions?engine=fossgis_osrm_car&route=41.6102%2C41.5997%3B41.6536%2C41.6376) from a seafront conference hotel. It carried [951,760 passengers in 2024](https://airports.ge/about-us/airports/batumi), 53 per cent more than the year before, which makes it Georgia's third busiest after Tbilisi and Kutaisi.

[Sheraton Batumi](https://www.marriott.com/en-us/hotels/bussi-sheraton-batumi-hotel/events/) has the biggest conference floor on the coast: 1,128 m2 over nine rooms, with a 972 m2 Grand Ballroom for 850 theatre-style, 600 at a banquet or 1,000 at a reception. Its published catering is the cheapest of the branded floors in this guide, a coffee break at USD 10 and lunch at USD 28 per person. [Radisson Blu Batumi](https://www.radissonhotels.com/en-us/hotels/radisson-blu-batumi) is the other seafront option for the same formats.

Up the coast at Shekvetili, [Paragraph Resort and Spa](https://www.marriott.com/en-us/hotels/busak-paragraph-resort-and-spa-shekvetili-autograph-collection/events/) is 813 m2 of indoor meeting space over six rooms, with a 460 m2 ballroom for 472 theatre-style, 350 at a banquet, five breakout rooms of 61 to 75 m2 and beach space outside, [55.7 km and 67 minutes](https://www.openstreetmap.org/directions?engine=fossgis_osrm_car&route=41.6102%2C41.5997%3B41.9535%2C41.7651) from Batumi airport. Next door, the [Black Sea Arena](https://www.gceb.ge/venues/black-sea-arena) is an 8,000-seat amphitheatre with a food court, VIP zones, dressing rooms, four mini cinemas, parking zones and managed guest traffic, and it is the only venue in Georgia for a plenary that size. The two are [2.6 km and 6 minutes apart](https://www.openstreetmap.org/directions?engine=fossgis_osrm_car&route=41.9385%2C41.7748%3B41.9535%2C41.7651), so an arena plenary with resort rooms is one programme, not two.

The two-base week is the reason Adjara and the coast belong in the same plan. Glamping Tago to central Batumi is [92.6 km and 104 minutes](https://www.openstreetmap.org/directions?engine=fossgis_osrm_car&route=41.6221%2C42.3125%3B41.6524%2C41.6367), so three working days on the ridge and two on the sea is one transfer apart. Going the other way, the seafront is a detour rather than a stop: Batumi airport to Tago through the city centre is 103 km and 123 minutes against 87.4 km and 104 direct, a 16 km loop that is worth it for lunch and not free.

## What team building activities can you actually book, and what do they cost?

Rafting has a season, and the month decides who can go. The Pshavi Aragvi runs [April to October and closes from November to March](https://www.adventure.ge/en/rafting): April and May are adults only on higher flow, June to August is the peak with children from late July, and September and October are the calm months when children are welcome. Release from the Zhinvali dam sets the grade, which [reaches III-IV in peak snowmelt from May to mid-June and settles to II-III by July](https://www.georgia-spirit.com/guides/rafting-georgia/). Helmet, life vest, paddle and a guide in every boat are included, and no wetsuit is needed in summer.

[Adventure Georgia](https://www.adventure.ge/en/team-building) has run this basecamp since 2003. It takes 20 to 300 people in timed waves with rafting, the rope park and a scored team competition running side by side, invoices foreign companies by bank transfer with a deposit, covers vegetarian and vegan diets as standard, and asks for one to two weeks of lead time. Transfers are not included, but it shares bus and minibus driver contacts. The last launch is two hours before sunset, no exceptions, so an afternoon arrival from Tbilisi is cutting it fine. [Aragvi Adventure Center](http://adventure-center.ge/) is the other rafting and rope-park base on the same river, at 4.8 from 164 reviews, and worth a quote if your dates are full.

## What about food, dietary needs and a vegetarian kitchen?

Ask the venue what it does about diets before you ask about the view, because this is the thing that goes wrong most. Teams have arrived at venues with [no vegan, plant-based-milk or gluten-free option](https://www.offsite.com/blog/hr-retreat-planning) despite telling HR weeks in advance.

### The kitchen at Glamping Tago, Village Tago

Our own yurt restaurant on the ridge is fully vegetarian: no meat and no fish in the kitchen at all. It seats 24 around the long table and up to 32 with extra tables, and the food is cooked fresh each morning by women from the village. Breakfast is a buffet from 09:00 to 11:00 at 32 GEL, lunch is a la carte from 13:00 to 16:00, and dinner is a buffet from 19:00 to 21:00 at 37 GEL with dessert included. Full board for a group is 100 GEL per person per day.

For a company group the chef builds the menu around the team: plant-based, gluten-free and allergen-aware, with herbs from the garden and produce from the valley. Group catering runs 85 GEL per person for a Georgian supra, 125 for a Euro-Georgian buffet and 215 for the signature five-course menu from 30 guests. Teams that want meat get it two ways: a BBQ live station at 45 GEL per person cooked for the whole group, or meat khinkali on the supra at 15 GEL per person. A group bringing its own meat pays 20 GEL for the mangal setup, and corkage on your own wine is 15 GEL a bottle.

> **Tip:** Say the kitchen is vegetarian in the invitation, not on arrival. Teams that hear it in week one treat it as part of the trip; teams that hear it at dinner on day one treat it as a problem. A village guesthouse dinner with meat is easy to arrange as a cultural evening.

## What does a three-day offsite for 20 people really cost in 2026?

About 24,400 GEL for the whole camp, all meals, a jeep day, a cooking workshop and return transfers from Batumi, which is roughly 1,220 GEL a head for three nights. Flights are on top. Here is the arithmetic, in June, with the numbers anyone can check above.

### 2026 prices

| Item | Calculation | GEL |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Whole-property buyout at Glamping Tago, 3 nights in June | 3 x 3,584 | 10,752 |
| Event privatisation fee | once | 2,000 |
| Full board, 20 people, 3 days | 20 x 3 x 100 | 6,000 |
| Jeep day to Green Lake, 5 cars | 5 x 400 | 2,000 |
| Georgian cooking workshop | 20 x 50 | 1,000 |
| Return transfers Batumi to Tago, 5 cars | 5 x 265 x 2 | 2,650 |
| **Total** | | **about 24,400 GEL, roughly 1,220 GEL per person** |

The same camp in April is 1,962 GEL a night instead of 3,584, which takes about 4,900 GEL off the same trip. October is 2,316.

## How do you get a team there? Flights, airports, transfers and the last mountain road

Fly into the airport closest to the region, not the one with the cheapest ticket. Tbilisi serves Kakheti, Kazbegi, Borjomi and the city; Batumi serves the Adjara mountains and the coast; Kutaisi is the low-cost base and the right choice only for Imereti and the coast.

| From | To | Distance | Time |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Batumi airport | Glamping Tago | 87.4 km | 2 h to Khulo plus 30-35 min by 4x4 |
| Kutaisi airport | Glamping Tago | 140.8 km | 5 h 30 by private 4x4 |
| Tbilisi airport | Glamping Tago | 312.4 km | 8 h 30 by private 4x4 |
| Batumi airport | Batumi seafront | 10.9 km | 20 min |
| Batumi airport | Paragraph Shekvetili | 55.7 km | 1 h 10 |
| Tbilisi airport | Tsinandali, Kakheti | 92.9 km | 1 h 45 |
| Tbilisi airport | Ambassadori Kachreti | 73.3 km | 1 h 5 |
| Tbilisi airport | Rooms Kazbegi | 169.9 km | 3 h |
| Tbilisi airport | Gudauri Lodge | 134.7 km | 2 h 25 |
| Tbilisi airport | Crowne Plaza Borjomi | 176.4 km | 2 h 40 |
| Kutaisi airport | Tbilisi | 253 km | 3 h 30 to 4 h by coach, 30 GEL |

[Kutaisi is Wizz Air's Georgian base](https://airports.ge/about-us/airports/kutaisi) and handled 1.7 million passengers in 2024, with four more low-cost and regional carriers alongside. Its flight-timed coach to Batumi is [30 GEL for an adult and 20 GEL for under 12s, about two hours](https://thegeorgianguide.com/practical-info/kutaisi-airport-transfers/), leaving 30 to 60 minutes after each landing.

Crossing the country by land got much faster. The four-lane [Rikoti route opened on 29 December 2025](https://civil.ge/archives/716286): 52 km with 51 tunnels and 97 bridges, 8 km shorter than the old pass road, which makes Tbilisi to Batumi a realistic 5 to 6 hours over about 360 km. The two cities are [about 360 km apart by road](https://georgiaguidebook.com/transport/tbilisi-to-batumi/), and the Stadler express train covers it in about four hours from 35 GEL, against up to six hours by coach from 40 GEL and a 45-minute Georgian Airways flight a few days a week. For a group moving between two bases, the train is the one that does not lose a working morning.

**The last leg to the Adjara mountains.** Batumi to Khulo is [85 km of asphalt](https://glampingtago.ge/how-to-get-to-glamping-tago), so a coach or a normal car is fine that far. The marshrutka leaves the old Batumi bus station every 30 minutes from 08:00 to 20:00, takes about 2 hours 30 and costs about 10 GEL, with ბათუმი - ხულო in the window. A taxi app car does Batumi to Khulo in about two hours for up to 175 GEL. From Khulo up to the camp is a 4x4 mountain road: our own jeep taxi is 75 GEL per car for up to four people and takes 30 to 35 minutes, a minibus up costs 135 GEL, and a private 4x4 straight from Batumi is 265 GEL per car. Kutaisi is 465 GEL, Akhaltsikhe 360 and Tbilisi 925, all per car for up to four. For a team arriving on different flights we pool the waves into shared 4x4 cars, and a picnic stop at the waterfall on the way up is 50 GEL extra.

> **Watch out:** Do not let a driver follow a generic map to us. [Chao is a different village](https://glampingtago.ge/how-to-get-to-glamping-tago), 1.6 km west of Tago but 13 km and about 20 minutes away by road, and maps have sent drivers there. The [Khulo cable car](https://glampingtago.ge/how-to-get-to-glamping-tago) is closed for repair with no reopening date, so nobody arrives that way. For a minibus or a normal car, the Skhalta valley road is the easier way in: turn off at Zamleti 4.7 km before Khulo, 94 km and about two hours from Batumi, then 15 km up through Cheri and 3.6 km via Dzmagula.

## When should you go? Month by month, and what closes

September is the best month in Georgia for a company group, and the first week of September is the worst on the coast.

| Month | What it gives a company group | What is closed or risky |
| --- | --- | --- |
| January to March | Gudauri and Goderdzi ski formats, Tbilisi and Kakheti conferences | Adjara mountain camps shut, Gudauri to Kobi closes in heavy snow |
| April | Glamping Tago opens on 1 April at its lowest rate, rafting starts | mountain trails still under snow, Goderdzi pass shut |
| May | rafting at its biggest water, green everywhere | snowmelt rivers at 5-10 C, high passes still shut |
| June | full mountain season, all work formats open | most rain and fog on the Adjara passes, July prices start |
| July and August | coast, lakes and high pastures at their best | peak rates everywhere, Tbilisi and Kakheti valleys very hot |
| September | the best month: every trail open, warm coast, rtveli in Kakheti | first week still peak season in Batumi, Kakheti venues lock 3-4 months out |
| October | peak foliage, rtveli into mid-October, Glamping Tago at 2,316 GEL a night | snow possible on high trails, Adjara camps close at the end of the month |
| November and December | Tbilisi and Kakheti conferences, Gudauri lifts from late December | Adjara camps closed, Abano Pass to Tusheti shut |

Tbilisi averages [26/16 C in September and 20/11 C in October](https://thegeorgianguide.com/guides/georgia-in-autumn/) on the 1991-2020 normals, with nine or ten rain days in each, and mountain towns at 1,500 to 1,800 m run 8 to 10 C colder than that. Late September to mid-October is the single best window, and Georgians travel in it too: the first two weekends of October are the hardest dates in Kakheti. Kazbegi's road stays open all year. Svaneti is best in September and risky from mid-October. Tusheti is the region a fixed-date company trip cannot use outside July to September: the only road in crosses the [Abano Pass at 2,826 m](https://thegeorgianguide.com/road-trips/tusheti-road-guide/) and is open about four months a year. It is 3.5 to 4 hours by shared 4x4 from Kvemo Alvani to Omalo at 100 to 120 GEL a seat, or 500 to 650 GEL for a whole jeep, and rental companies do not allow their cars on it.

## Will the internet hold for a working offsite?

In a city, yes; in the mountains, only at a venue that publishes a tested speed. Typical mobile download speeds run [100-140 Mbps in Tbilisi, 80-120 in Batumi, 60-100 in Kutaisi, 40-80 in the Kakheti wine region, 30-60 in Kazbegi town and 0-10 in remote mountains](https://getroamzi.com/internet-wifi-georgia-guide/). More than 82 per cent of fixed lines are fibre. 5G launched at the end of 2023 and is a Tbilisi story: Batumi has limited coverage, and Kutaisi and the Kakheti wine region have none, so plan on 4G outside the capital.

Buy SIMs in town rather than at the airport desk, which is convenient and poor value. A [Magti SIM is 10 GEL with a passport](https://thegeorgianguide.com/practical-info/sim-cards-internet/), and in the MyMagti app 5 GB is 12 GEL and unlimited data is 10 GEL a week or 35 GEL a month. [Magti](https://www.magticom.ge/en) has the best coverage including most mountain areas, and [Silknet](https://silknet.com/en) is the runner-up and sells the easiest local eSIM online.

Then ask the venue three questions in writing: what the tested download speed is, what the backup is when the line drops, and whether a video call with a webcam has actually run from the room you will work in. At Glamping Tago the answers are 300 Mbps on Starlink, mobile as backup, and yes.

## Does a foreign team need visas or work permits, and how is it invoiced?

Nobody on a normal offsite needs a work permit, but the rule changed this year and it is worth reading once. Citizens of 98 countries enter visa free. From [1 March 2026](https://www.aacc.ge/en-us/news/significant-amendments-to-the-law-on-labour-migration-new-rules-from-march-1-2026) a foreign national without permanent residence who performs paid work in Georgia needs a right to work plus matching immigration status, and working without it carries [a 2,000 GEL fine for a first offence](https://georgiaexpats.com/guides/labour-permit/).

The exemption that covers a company offsite is explicit. [Resolution 321, effective 9 July 2026](https://ge.andersen.com/georgia-labour-migration-quotas-exemptions/), exempts foreign nationals employed by or providing services to a non-resident entity where the work relates to that entity's operations outside Georgia. A team from a foreign company working on its own products in a rented venue is inside that exemption. The same resolution scrapped the labour market test and replaced it with annual employer quotas.

Two cases need a second look. A facilitator or trainer flown in and paid for the event falls under short-term professional activity, which means [no more than four months in one calendar year](https://ge.andersen.com/georgia-labour-migration-quotas-exemptions/), never longer than their lawful stay, and registered by the local employer. Tour, mountain, alpine and ski guide work, courier services and passenger transport are excluded from that route and need the standard permit, which matters if you were planning to bring your own guide.

On the money side, ask three things before you sign. Can the venue invoice your company, and in which currency. How the payment splits. And what happens to cards. Our own answers: an invoice in GEL or EUR, paid by bank transfer to [Bank of Georgia](https://bankofgeorgia.ge/en) or through a 24-hour payment link in GEL with no commission; a 30 per cent deposit that is non-refundable and counts as the minimum spend, with the balance invoiced at the 14-day confirmation and paid before arrival, and food settled at the end of the stay. Russian-issued Visa, Mastercard and Mir cards do not work anywhere in Georgia, so Russian-speaking organisers use [KoronaPay](https://koronapay.com/), cash or a transfer to a Georgian account. We do not take crypto. A Tbilisi operator will also issue a [service contract, a completion act and an invoice](https://sakhva-travel.com/en/ekskursiya/korporativniy-tur-tbilisi/) if your finance team needs that set.

## What do you need to book, and how far ahead?

Lead time is set by headcount and by the month, not by how organised you are. [Travel Door](https://traveldoor.ge/blog/mice-corporate-travel-georgia-planners-guide/) puts a focused meeting for under 20 people at 4 to 6 weeks, 50 to 200 delegates at 2 to 3 months and exhibition scale at 4 to 6 months, and says entry requirements for a mixed-nationality delegate list should be confirmed 6 to 8 weeks out, longer if anyone needs an e-visa. In practice the Adjara mountains are tighter than that: June to September dates at Glamping Tago go 6 to 12 months ahead, and repeat teams book 2 to 3 months out.

1. **Fix the window before the venue.** September first, then June, then late May and early October. If the format is ski, late December to April.
2. **Hold the dates while finance catches up.** We pencil dates without a prepayment for one week, then release them. That week is usually enough to get a purchase order signed.
3. **Book the beds.** A whole-property venue has one set of dates, and the small places have 33 or 39 beds, not 300.
4. **Pay the deposit and read what it buys.** Ours is 30 per cent of the booking, non-refundable, and it counts as your minimum spend: whatever changes later, you never pay less. Inside 60 days in high season it goes to 50 per cent up front, with the rest due within a week.
5. **Lock the flights around the transfer, not the other way round.** Pooled airport waves cost less than five separate cars.
6. **Send the programme 30 days out.** At Glamping Tago the daily schedule is due 30 days before arrival, and it does not depend on your final tent count.
7. **Confirm the headcount in writing 14 days out.** From then the booking is fixed and every booked tent is paid. Until 60 days out you can move the number freely; from 60 to 30 days you can drop up to two tents free of charge and from 30 to 14 days one more.
8. **Send the rooming list 7 days out.** Who sleeps where, in writing, before anyone lands.
9. **Book the activities with the beds, not on arrival.** A jeep takes four people, so a team of 20 needs five cars on the same morning.

> **Good to know:** Ask for the written activity schedule and send it to the team before the trip. It is the document organisers ask us for most, and it is what stops a group arriving with twelve different ideas about when the working sessions are.

## What should the team pack, and what happens if it rains?

Warm layers and rain gear, whatever the forecast says. A mountain camp has warm days and cold nights even in August, and phone weather apps show Khulo in the valley, not the ridge, so they are wrong more often than they are right. Tents have a wood stove and an electric heater and there is no air conditioning anywhere.

Rain does not cancel a working day at Glamping Tago. The 38 m2 dome is indoors and heated, the platform is under a sailcloth tent, the sauna is lit whatever the sky does, and film night moves from the open platform into the yoga shala. Jeep days are the part that moves: on the Adjara passes a wet morning is a reason to swap the day around rather than to sit in a car.

A few house facts that decide how a group runs. Check-in is 15:00 to 16:00 and check-out 11:00, with no early or late fee, because we move people as soon as rooms are free. Quiet hours start at 23:00. Tap water comes off the mountain and is drinkable, so bring thermoses instead of buying bottles. Laundry is 15 GEL. Two friendly dogs, Biba and Boba, live on site, which matters if anyone on the team is allergic or nervous around dogs. A group that has taken the whole property can pitch its own tents and park campervans at no charge.

> **Good to know:** Mobile signal in upper Adjara is a Magti story. Put the team on Magti SIMs before the transfer and tell anyone on another network to expect gaps on the road up.

## What do teams get wrong when they plan an offsite in Georgia?

- **Three regions in three nights.** Tbilisi, the mountains and Kakheti in one long weekend is a bus tour with slides. Three nights in one region plus day trips is the working minimum.
- **Booking the cheap airport.** A Kutaisi ticket to a Tbilisi programme costs most of a day in a coach, and a Tbilisi ticket to an Adjara programme costs 8 hours 30 in a car.
- **Announcing room sharing on arrival.** The complaints employees make about offsites are consistent: [bedroom sharing announced only on arrival](https://www.bbc.com/worklife/article/20230623-what-happens-when-fun-corporate-retreats-cross-a-line), no downtime in a packed itinerary, alcohol-heavy evenings and blurred professional boundaries. Send the rooming list and the schedule in advance.
- **Treating diets as a detail.** Ask the kitchen what it does about vegan, gluten-free and allergies at the enquiry stage, and put your list in the booking.
- **Expecting a mountain venue to have mountain internet.** Most do not have it. Ask for a tested number and a backup.
- **Comparing a per-person price with a per-group price.** Agencies quote per person, whole-property venues quote per night for the property. Convert both to cost per person per night before you decide anything.
- **Renting a normal car for a mountain venue.** The last road to Tago needs a 4x4, and most Georgian rental contracts exclude the Goderdzi pass as well.
- **Forgetting the pass and the season.** The Adjara camps close from November to March, and the [Goderdzi pass](https://goderdzi.ski/) at 2,025 m closes in snow. The [road department](https://glampingtago.ge/how-to-get-to-glamping-tago) answers on +995 32 2 31 30 76.
- **Leaving the wine to chance in September.** Rtveli is the best team activity in Kakheti and the reason the good venues are gone three to four months early.

## A working offsite for 10 to 28 at Glamping Tago

We are a private camp on a ridge above Village Tago in Khulo municipality, mountainous Adjara, two hours inland from Batumi. When a team books the whole property, nobody else is at breakfast and no wedding is using the work spaces.

The work half: a climate-controlled 38 m2 geodesic dome that seats about 20, a 138 m2 platform under a sailcloth tent for the whole group, speaker, microphone, whiteboards and post-its, coffee and snacks every two hours, and Starlink Wi-Fi tested at 300 Mbps with mobile backup. The projector gives a usable picture only after dark, so slides belong in the evening session.

The other half: a wood-fired sauna that is free for staying guests every evening, with a cold plunge, a campfire every clear night, sunrise yoga included, and jeep days to [Green Lake](/blog/green-lake), the Shuamta lakes and Khikhani fortress. [Yurtalicious](/restaurant), our yurt restaurant, is fully vegetarian, with a BBQ live station at 45 GEL a head for teams that want meat.

## FAQ

**Where can a company rent a whole venue for an offsite in Georgia (the country)?**

Two venues publish a whole-property price you can plan against. Glamping Tago in mountainous Adjara sells the entire camp, all 12 tents, the nine-bed dorm and both work spaces, from 1,962 GEL a night in April to 4,488 in July and August, plus a 2,000 GEL event privatisation fee. Horizons Bakurtsikhe in Kakheti goes exclusive from four cottages, from 2,715 GEL a night for six. Everywhere else, exclusivity is a negotiation with a sales office.

**How much does a three-day company offsite in Georgia (the country) cost for 20 people?**

About 24,400 GEL, or roughly 1,220 GEL a head, for three nights in June at Glamping Tago with the whole camp, the 2,000 GEL privatisation fee, full board at 100 GEL per person per day, a five-car jeep day, a cooking workshop and return transfers from Batumi. Flights are extra. For comparison, MEET-GE quotes from EUR 8,500 for 20 to 25 people over three days, and Promedea quotes EUR 150 to 300 per person per day all-inclusive.

**Which region of Georgia suits which kind of offsite?**

The Adjara mountains for a deep-work offsite of 10 to 28 with a whole property to yourselves. Kakheti for wine, award dinners and groups of 150 to 250 who all want a hotel room. Kazbegi and Gudauri for a leadership strategy session at altitude. Tbilisi for a conference of 100 to 1,000. The Black Sea coast for incentive trips, summer parties and plenaries up to 8,000 at the Black Sea Arena.

**Is there good enough internet for a remote team offsite in the Georgian mountains?**

Only at a venue that publishes a tested speed. Glamping Tago runs Starlink Wi-Fi tested at 300 Mbps with mobile backup, and teams from Berlin, Lisbon and Amsterdam have run normal video-call days from the ridge. An ordinary Georgian mountain guesthouse runs 3 to 15 Mbps and drops to 1 to 3 when the house is full, and remote mountain mobile data runs 0 to 10 Mbps. Magti has the widest mountain coverage.

**Which airport should a team fly into for a company offsite in Georgia?**

Batumi for the Adjara mountains and the coast: it is 87.4 km to Glamping Tago, two hours to Khulo on asphalt plus a 30 to 35 minute 4x4 leg. Tbilisi for Kakheti, Kazbegi, Gudauri, Borjomi and the city hotels. Kutaisi is the low-cost base but only makes sense for Imereti and the coast, because Kutaisi to Tbilisi is 253 km by road and a 3.5 to 4 hour coach at 30 GEL.

**Which month is best for a mountain company offsite in Georgia (the country)?**

September. Every trail is open, the coast is still warm, and rtveli is running in Kakheti from the second half of the month. June is the other strong month, though the Adjara passes get the most rain and fog. April and October are the cheapest at Glamping Tago, 1,962 and 2,316 GEL a night for the whole camp, with the trade-off that high trails may still be under snow or getting it early.

**Do we need a work permit or a DMC for a corporate event in Georgia (the country)?**

Not a work permit, in most cases. Citizens of 98 countries enter visa free, and Resolution 321 of 9 July 2026 exempts foreign nationals working for a non-resident company on that company's operations outside Georgia from the right-to-work rule that started on 1 March 2026. A facilitator or trainer paid for the event falls under short-term professional activity, capped at four months a calendar year and registered by the local employer. A DMC is optional: a whole-property venue drafts the programme and handles food, rooms and transfers itself.

**How far ahead do we need to book a company offsite in Georgia?**

Travel Door puts a focused meeting for under 20 people at 4 to 6 weeks, 50 to 200 delegates at 2 to 3 months and exhibition scale at 4 to 6 months. In practice the good mountain and Kakheti dates go earlier: June to September at Glamping Tago is booked 6 to 12 months ahead, repeat teams book 2 to 3 months out, and Kakheti venues lock 3 to 4 months out for 40 people or more in September.

**Can a Georgian venue invoice our company, and how do we pay if our cards do not work?**

Yes. At Glamping Tago the invoice comes in GEL or EUR, paid by bank transfer to Bank of Georgia or through a 24-hour payment link in GEL with no commission, with a 30 per cent non-refundable deposit that counts as the minimum spend and the balance due at the 14-day confirmation. Russian-issued Visa, Mastercard and Mir cards do not work anywhere in Georgia, so Russian-speaking organisers use KoronaPay, cash or a transfer to a Georgian account. A Tbilisi operator will issue a service contract, a completion act and an invoice if your finance team needs that set.

**What team building activities can a company actually book in Georgia, and what do they cost?**

A rafting and rope-park corporate day near Tbilisi starts at 90 GEL per person for 20 to 300 people, April to October, and a full day for 30 people with both activities, a buffet lunch and a sit-down dinner is quoted at 6,000 to 9,420 GEL, about 200 to 314 GEL a head. Wine team building in Kakheti starts at 120 GEL per person and an Old Tbilisi city quest at 80. A hosted mafia evening for 10 to 14 people is 490 to 1,090 GEL per group. In Adjara a jeep day is 400 GEL per car for up to four, which is 85 to 100 GEL a head from six people, and a Georgian cooking workshop is from 50 GEL per person.

**What should a team pack for a mountain offsite in Georgia, and what happens if it rains?**

Warm layers and rain gear whatever the forecast says: a mountain camp has warm days and cold nights even in August, and phone weather apps show the valley town rather than the ridge. At Glamping Tago the tents have a wood stove and an electric heater, there is no air conditioning, and the working day does not depend on the weather because the 38 m2 dome is indoors and heated and the 138 m2 platform sits under a sailcloth tent. Jeep days are the part that moves: a wet morning on the Adjara passes is a reason to swap the day around.
